Waiver
A competitor (or parent/guardian if competitor is under 18) must complete and sign a waiver and
registration form before they are allowed to compete and in doing so agree to the terms and
conditions of the event.
Entry Fee
Adult - £15
Teen - £10
Children - £10
Time Limit
Adults and Teens – 1 * 5 minute round
Children – 1 * 3 minute round
Age Limit
Adults - 18 or over on the day of the competition (no exceptions)
Teens – age 14 to 17 on the day of the competition (no exceptions)
Children – age 7 to 13 on the day of the competition (no exceptions)
Competition wear
WJJF Gi
Supports for ankles / wrists / knees are optional (must not contain any metal)
Competitors weigh in on the morning of the competition.
Adult competitors can strip down to underwear in order to try to make the weight. Teens and children can only weigh-in wearing their WJJF gi
Competitors must make the weight for the section they wish to compete in e.g. if they are to compete in minus 70kg class they must be 70kg exactly or lower. (There is no 0.5kg limit.)
Adult competitors will be allowed to try to make weight providing they are not more than 1kg over the class they are trying to enter e.g. If they are wishing to fight in minus 70kg class and weigh in at 71kg they have until the first section is due to start in order to try to lose the weight.
Fight Officials
Referee Two assistant referees – one at top table (also records/displays warnings using red/blue folders) and
one sitting at opposite side of area (also keeping time) The assistant referee who is keeping time must call out one minute from end of match, 15 seconds
from end of match and throw in a white belt/call time at end of match Only the main referee can stop time during a match with a clear time out hand signal to the time
keeper
Who can Referee a fight
A referee cannot referee a fight in which he has one or more of his own club students competing, unless another Referee is unavailable and the competitors don’t object.
Warnings
When a competitor goes from a standing position to a non-standing position and remains down for 3
seconds or more, he will be punished by a warning (No butt scooting).
When a competitor disengages from contact and starts backing up and consistently avoids engaging
again he will be punished by a warning.
A passive competitor will be warned twice and then will be punished by an official warning. The referee
will warn the passive player verbally by the words "WARNING PASSIVITY" – after giving the second
verbal warning the next warning will be an official warning that is recorded at the table.
If two competitors (team-mates) make a fixed fight, they will both be disqualified from the
