Pumps of carbon and exotic metals
Our material expertise in carbon-based process equipment delivers pump solutions that outperform standard pump con-structions and help generate lowest cost of ownership.Unlike plastic centrifugal pumps, DIABON graphite is neither permeable nor loses stability over time or at high temperatures.
Even accidental dry runs, temperature peaks or other processing irregularities do not damage the pump. DIABON pumps are vacuum resistant, compatible with almost all cor-rosive fluids and extraordinarily durable. The range is completed with exotic metal based pumps of titanium, zirconium or nickel alloys.
Consistent high efficiency Low thermal expansion and absence of swelling allows for very low tolerances and constant performance over years, even up to 200°C.
Durability No permeation of corrosive fluids and resistance against nearly all chemicals provide for universal use. Mechanical seals are highly reliable.
Abrasion resistance DIABON has a good resistance to abrasion at elevated temperatures. With hard DURABON carbon and free-flow (vortex) designs we offer solutions that stand up to even the toughest conditions.
Standardized and maintenance friendly ISO 2858 pumps (incl. magnetic drive) with “back pull-out” design allow inspection and maintenance without discon-necting the piping and volute.
Axial pumps Specially designed to improve the performance of evapora-tion loops in the phosphoric acid industry we offer exotic metal axial pumps.
These pumps allow flow rates up to 20000 m3/h and top heads up to 10 m, even at low speeds. These welded construc-tions, mainly in Ni alloys, permit higher stability and purity than casted designs. Outstanding shaft rigidity allows for low tolerances and thus higher efficiency.
The pumps are also much less sensitive to such process vari-ations as pressure changes or vibrations. The high corrosion resistance results in significantly lower maintenance costs compared to other pumps and thus immediately cuts costs.
Our axial pumps are used in industries that employ ferti-lizers/phosphates, potash and sulphuric acids and are also available in various carbon materials.

POLYFLURON® lined partsThe ultimate polymer-based corrosion protection.
We provide global support for safe and economical handling of your corrosive media. Our worldwide technical sales staff offers competent support and services ranging from expedited delivery for large projects to supply contracts for piping maintenance.
The basis for our products and approaches is POLYFLURON, a PTFE fluoropolymer (= polytetrafluoroethylene), which continues to perform safely when other plastics have long reached their limits.
POLYFLURON liners are paste extruded using a proprietary manufacturing process. The compact structure of POLYFLURON leads to maximum corrosion protection thanks to low permeation and extraordinary mechanical strength like high flexural fatigue resistance.
POLYFLURON piping system
Based on our experience with paste extruded PTFE and more than 1000 reference customers, we supply a compre-hensive range of POLYFLURON-lined piping systems. The main area of application is in transport of corrosive media, e.g. in the chemical industry.

POLYFLURON expansion joints
POLYFLURON expansion joints are installed in steel and PTFE-lined steel pipelines as well as in enamel/glass lined pipelines and, thanks to their large adjustment range, in plastic and fibre-reinforced plastic (FRP) pipelines.
Because of their flexibility and low spring rates, they are also used in sensitive plant components with enamel finishes, in FRP and graphite process equipment and graphite heat exchangers. They compensate thermal expansion of pipe-lines, thus prevent stress, and are a compact alternative to material-intensive horseshoe bends.
POLYFLURON expansion joints are also used to absorb oscillations and vibrations, for instance those generated by pumps. Here the special properties of POLYFLURON are borne out, i.e. its low tendency to material fatigue and complete absence of brittle fracture as compared with other plastics and elastomers or certain metals.
c POLYFLURON PTFE pipe systems
17
The expansion joints are characterized by exceptional safety and long service life. Their operational reliability, in particu-lar, is fruit of our special manufacturing process, careful material selection, and targeted optimization gained from extensive practical trials and finite element method (FEM) simulations. We are able to supply POLYFLURON bellows that continue to perform impressively even under extreme operating conditions.

Start-up services
Professional procedures for erection and installation are key to successful commissioning. Original equipment manufac-turers have detailed knowledge of delivery and assembly, so customer benefit is even greater in the case of complex systems.
Improper handling and installation are the main causes of damage before and during start-up of operation. Our long-term experience ensures professional and safe installation.
Initial operation of complex systems and valuable equip-ment requires detailed preparation. Only fine-tuned sys-tems operate according to design specifications. Customers demand the highest safety standards and best practice, and employing established commissioning procedures fulfils them. Performance tests verify full operational capability and high product quality during commissioning.
Examples of start-up services: Erection/installation Commissioning Performance tests Operational training
Maintenance services
Increased competition with regard to product quality and production efficiency requires uninterrupted and high quali-ty production processes. This in turn requires implementa-tion of systematic maintenance procedures. High reliability of systems and equipment must be ensured. Detailed know-how and long term experience in maintenance are thus major competitive advantages.
Standard maintenance is generally carried out by the same companies that run the plants. Yet complex demands and special materials, such as graphite, require the support of a specialized partner. Our experience as an original equipment manufacturer equips us to provide a full scope of mainte-nance services. Our range of solutions covers everything from general support right up to complex maintenance tasks. Customer-specific maintenance approaches can be set up to ensure top performance of your systems and equipment.
