A rebus is a puzzle where you decode a message that could be a

word or a phrase from pictures or symbols from their sounds not

their meaning.

A ligature are letters that connect together, mostly used to improve the

appearance of type, and creates a smoother transition from letter to letter.

Arabesque is a form of

Woodcut A woodcut is a piece of wood that is carved into to

make a print. The parts that are not intended to be part

of the print is cut out of the wood and the parts that

make the picture stay and get covered with ink then

pressed to paper.

Perspective

Perspective is the art of making 2D images look like 3D. Everything in

the image is related to one certain point to give it depth. That certain

point is called vanishing point and is usually in the middle of the

image.

Foreshortening

Foreshortening is an illusion made on a

flat surface to look like it may go on

forever.
