Grant Writing – Part 2
Sample Statement of NeedThis is a request to underwrite an campaign to create housing
trust fund. There is a significant decline in federal and state investment in community development in the City of Rochester. Without sustained housing investment, neighborhoods will continue to decline. A housing trust fund would provide $5 million in new funding for housing and neighborhood development. Trust fund dollars would be used to rehab or build single-family homes and apartments. This fund will double the capacity of local non-profits to create quality affordable housing. In addition, the trust fund would leverage additional public and private funds.
