Grammar: Adjective + Noun When you write, you can make a sentence much more interesting if you add descriptive words. These descriptive words are called adjectives. They describe nouns (people, places, things, and ideas). ADJECTIVE(S) NOUN I have a heavy bag. This is my new bicycle. Michael goes to an excellent college. Rachel draws small ink pictures. Sometimes you can combine two short sentences by putting the adjective(s) before the noun. TWO SHORT SENTENCES BETTER WRITING n adj There is a volcano.
