CIS students sat the Measurement of Academic Progress (MAP) in May and the results are listed in the chart below. CIS continues to score
higher academically in reading and math when compared to students in the US and internationally. Please remember the MAP assessment and
scores are only one small snapshot of your child’s academic journey. The MAP assessment is a useful tool for us when determining our curric-
ular coursework at CIS, understanding the gaps and strengths of each student and looking at how to structure our units.

BayTaf Track Meet– Ava H
Congratulations to Ava H who travelled to Tampa, FL with 345 Ath-
letics Club to compete in the
BayTaf Athletics meet at South
Florida University. She won a
Bronze medal in her age group in
the 3000 metres (7.5 laps).
This was her first Track meet.
The Club itself came away with
12 medals with 10 kids running.
If any students are interested in
joining the newly formed middle
distance running club, please
contact Ava's mother, Amber Y.
Cayman Little League
The final game of the Cayman Little League Association's Single A divi-sion took place last Friday, May 27.
A strong CIS representation was seen in the championship winners, Team Crossfit 7 Mile. Crossfit completed its season with an unbeaten record, with Aidan M, Jackson M, Cameron M, Isla M, Toby J and Kazimir B participating in a nail-biting and hard-fought victory in the final over KPMG (final score 4-3).
CIS parents also served as head and assistant coaches throughout the season, with Ethan M and Oliver J serving as base coaches.
Women’s Football Day
On Saturday, May 21, Evie N, Alexia B, Elle S, Kasey G and Ciara B all participated in the Women’s Football Day 5v5 tournament.
The girls pulled together a team, “The Ninja Stars” with other players from around the island and were the only U-13 team entered. They played really well against much older girls on the U-15 teams and came 3rd overall!
Well done girls!
Starfish Conservation Project
Grade 7 would like to thank everyone who joined them on Friday, May 27, in celebration of Grade 7 ’s Starfish Conservation Project.
Their fundraiser produced enough funds for them to purchase one starfish sign already!
Grade 7 and Ms. Mariska would like to thank everyone for their support; they really appreciate it and are absolutely thrilled with the progress of this project.
Also, congratulations to all of the raffle winners and thank you to all of our sponsors.
Grade 7 held a bake sale on the 1st of June, and will also be holding a bake sale on the 8th of June.
The motive behind the production of the starfish conservation materials is to bring awareness to the public, that by lifting a starfish out of the water, even for only a few seconds, can cause severe damage to their tissue. Also, sunscreen is detrimental to their health.
The students’ enthusiasm and dedication have truly been an inspiration and each and every one of them can be commended for their service and citizenship.

EC and ES Parent Series Evenings and Coffees
We would like to thank all of you who attended the parent evenings and coffees this year. These events have been wonderful opportunities to share, learn, and grow as a community.
There’s an enormous body of research and studies on the positive impact of parent partnerships and student success not just in school but throughout life. We cannot educate our children without reaching out to their parents. When schools and families work together, children have a far better chance of not only being successful in school but being successful in life as well.
We value your partnership in supporting our students’ educational journeys and are grateful for your continued interest and involvement in our CIS learning community.
