Graduation Drive-By Ceremony Class of 2020 September 18, 2020 3:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. CHOICE class of 2020, we appreciate your patience as we have waited to celebrate your graduation. Due to the global pandemic, we delayed graduation (based upon student input), in the hopes that we would be able to have a traditional ceremony. Unfortunately, that is still not possible, so we will celebrate your commencement with a drive up ceremony on Friday, September 18. The details are listed below; please read them carefully to ensure a safe, enjoyable experience for all involved. Schedule: 2:30 p.m.: Student cars begin lining up (see attached route - you may come through in any order you choose) ● One car per family ● Graduate should be in passenger seat, and wearing a mask ● Anyone who will be getting out of the car needs to be wearing a mask ● All people in the car should self-screen to make sure they have no symptoms of illness prior to the ceremony. Please do not attend the ceremony if any of this applies: ○ Any of the following symptoms: Fever or chills • Cough • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing • Fatigue • Muscle or body aches • Headache • Recent loss of taste or smell • Sore throat • Congestion • Nausea or vomiting • Diarrhea ○ Have been in close contact with someone with Covid-19 symptoms within the past 14 days, have had a positive Covid-19 test within the past 14 days, or have been told to quarantine by a medical provider during the past 14 days due to possible exposure to Covid 2:45: Staff members line up to cheer on students 3:00: Graduation ceremony begins ● Follow directions of staff who will direct cars through the route - be prepared with snacks and water as it may take up to two hours to get through the line ● Students will stop to pick up a mask, cap and gown at Station 1 in the Evergreen parking lot ● When it is your turn, you will be directed to stop your car in front of the stage at the back side of the CHOICE building, at Station 2 ● Student and family exit car (everyone must be wearing a mask) and maintain at least six feet distance from all other observers and staff ● For our Native American families who wish to present their student with a button robe, you may do so at this time ● Principal announces student name from up on stage ● The family/friends stay behind the rope to cheer on their graduate and take photos
