Writing Center

Writing Skills Improvement Program
• WISP offers tutoring appointments for students for free once every two weeks.
• They also offer writing groups for graduate and undergraduate students, writing workshops on select topics (grammar, the writing process, scholarly writing, and research), and a 3-week summer Graduate Writing Institute.
• There is a list of online writing resources on their website.
• Contact the librarian specialist for your college or department with questions or to schedule an appointment.
• Request scanned articles and book chapters through document delivery (from UA library) or Interlibrary Loan (other libraries). You can also request books from other libraries through Interlibrary Loan.
• Browse the interactive online tutorials for specific skills, such as searching for research

through the databases, creating citations, and avoiding accidental plagiarism.
• View the graduate students’ page for ways to reserve dissertation rooms, comps exam rooms, and long term study rooms.
• View example dissertations, theses, and literature reviews.
• Explore online citation management tools.
• View research guides by subject or by course/program.
• Borrow technology such as chargers, cords, computers, and more.
