91 (PORTRAIT-FORMAT) Memory Book for Single-Sided Copying11 5 (PORTRAIT-FORMAT) Memory Book for Two-Sided Copying141 (PORTRAIT-FORMAT) Blank Pages (for filler or replacement)
I’ve included several versions/formats of the memory book, but the content of each is the same: each version/format includes 6 cover page options (you choose one OR have multiple options available for students to choose one), plus 17 book pages. Blank pages are also provided in all formats to help you further customize the book.
The basic versions of the memory book are: a version for single-sided copying and a version for two-sided copying. Both of these versions come in a landscape format (horizontal pages) and a portrait format (vertical pages). NOTE: The version for two-sided copying in landscape format also includes a “Version B” where every other page is rotated 180 degrees, which can help make the copying easier. This rotation is unnecessary for the portrait format.
Use the Table of Contents (p3) to locate the page in the file where each version/format begins. For specific tips, read the information at the beginning of the version/format you choose (p5, p29, p60, p91, p115).
General Tips
PRINTING TIP:This resource was created with 8.5” x 11” page dimensions. When printing, be sure to select “Actual Size” (or the equivalent phrase) to maintain the margins you see when viewing on your computer. (You do NOT want “Scale to Fit” or “Fit to Page.”)© 2016 BY MICHAEL FRIERMOOD

Version forSingle-Sided Copying
This version of the book is intended for single-sided copying. (The “coil” of the notebook is on the left edge for every page.) If you want to rearrange the order of the pages, or eliminate some of the pages, this version might be simpler to use. Or, if you are planning to let students choose the pages they want to include in their book, this version might work the best, since the back of all pages would be blank.
For example, you could print stacks of each memory book page, line up the stacks on a table, and have students select one cover page and ten book pages (or however many you want to require). Then staple each stack, landscape-style, to form the book.

Version forTwo-Sided Copying
This version of the book is intended for two-sided copying. (The “coil” of the notebook alternates sides, creating the effect of page-fronts and page-backs.) Choose one cover page, then add pages 36-54 of this file, and copy the stack front-to-back to create the two-sided memory book.
You can still rearrange the pages of this version, or take out certain pages, but just make sure you still alternate page-fronts with page-backs. Use the blank pages (p56-p59) if needed.

Blank PagesUse these pages if you want to add open-ended pages for students to create, OR if you want to replace a page in the two-sided version.
In this version of the two-sided memory book, every other page has been rotated 180°. Here’s are two reasons you might want to use this version:
• On many copy machines, when you want to make a two-sided copy of horizontally designed, single-sided originals (“landscape,” not “portrait”), if all the sheets are facing the same direction when you feed it through the copy machine, the resulting copies will have one side facing right-side-up, and the backside facing upside-down. That’s annoying, am I right?! Printing THIS version of the memory book will have all the backsides already “pre-rotated” for you. So just choose your cover sheet and make a stack of the remaining pages in the way they are printed.
• If you try to print the memory book two-sided directly from your printer, you may not have the capability of “turning” certain pages, and therefore the memory book may come out having one side facing right-side-up, and the backside facing upside-down. So annoying! THIS version of the memory book already has the backsides rotated, so the resulting printed pages will come out with both sides facing the same way. Score!
