1. TWO DAYS CAMP AT ANJORA VILLAGE 24th& 25th JANUARY,2020
THEME -VOTERS AWARENESS PROGRAMME AND AWARENESS PROGRAMME FOR GIRL
EDUCATION
Objective: To Sensitize the Voters and raise awareness among villagers regarding Girl
Education
Venue: Village Anjora

Report: The Youth Red Cross unit of Govt.VYT.PG. Autonomous College organized a two day
camp at Anjora village on 24th and 25th January 2020. The objective behind organizing the
camp was to sensitize the villagers about the importance of participation as voters and make
them responsible as conscious citizens. They also campaigned for girl education by reaching out
in groups to the houses of the villagers ensuring the number of children getting education.
45 volunteers participated in this camp keeping in view the motto of the YOUTH RED CROSS
that is Service, Friendship and Health. The volunteers under the guidance of Dr. R.N. Singh and
supervision of Prof-in-Charge Dr.Tarlochan Kaur Sandhu took part in the rally and performed
Street plays based on the themes. Dr.Sunita Mishra and Dr. Anita Meshram of Govt. College,
Khurshipar, Bhilai were invited to address the volunteers on the 2ndday of the camp.
Dr.R.N.Singh, Dr.Somali Gupta, Dr.Anshumala, Dr.Sanju Sinha and other professors visited the
camp to motivate the volunteers.
Outcome: The Volunteers during survey and campaign were able to interact successfully with
the villagers.Moreover they were able to generate awareness for girl education and found that
most of the families were sending their girls to schools.

2. REPORT OF WORLD RED CROSS DAY 08/05/2020
Objective: Tocelebrate the spirit of the volunteers to provide medical help to everyone
without any discrimination.
Venue: District Red Cross Office, Durg

On 8th May 2020,the World Red Cross Day was observed by YRC volunteers as the year 2020 is
to mark the centenary of Indian Red Cross Society,(constituted on 20th March 1920),the motto
was “Keep clapping for volunteers.”The Durg District officer of Red Cross handed over masks
and soap kits for distribution in the colleges for students and faculty to follow the protocol of
hand washing and physical distancing during the pandemic times.
Outcome: All the Youth Red Cross Volunteers are fully trained and are wholeheartedly serving
the communities voluntarily and whenever called upon to do so.

3. REPORT ON ACTIVITIES BY YOUTH RED CROSS VOLUNTEERS DURING LOCK DOWN – COVID-19 PANDEMIC 2020
Under the guidance and supervision of the Principal Dr. R.N.Singh and Professor-in-Charge Dr.
Tarlochan Kaur Sandhu, a large number of Youth Red Cross volunteers of Government VYT PG
Autonomous College, Durg, took initiative to tackle and fight Covid-19 Pandemic in Durg and
Bhilai regions through various activities during the lockdown. Following are the activities listed
below:
In the initial phase of the outbreak of Corona Virus the volunteers of Youth Red Cross
and Red Ribbon Club conducted awareness campaigns to sensitize the locals, making
them familiar as to what Corona Virus is, as an information to the community and
prepare them to control its infection by explaining the symptoms.
The volunteers appealed the public to avoid man gathering, so that a large number of
people could be saved from getting exposed to infection, wash hands regularly and taught
social distancing.
Markets, railway stations, village areas in the suburbs were targeted for distributing
masks, sanitizers, edibles etc.
The volunteers Mridula, Kiran, Bhawna and IshaSahu along with others stitched and
distributed masks to the volunteers and created awareness through posters/collagesand
ensured to “Stay Home Stay Safe”. The volunteers also distributed water and food items
to the needy on the highway.

Special 7 Days Camp 2021 Report
The ending of the seven day camp of the National Service Scheme, Govt. V. Y. T. PG Autonomous College, Durg has been organized with a cultural event by NSS volunteers on 11th December 2021 at Thanod. The camp was organized under the guidance of Dr. R. N. Singh, Principal of the College and Dr. MeenaMaan, Program officer, National Service Scheme (Girls Unit),Science College Durg.
The camp at Thanod was initiated on 6th December 2021 with the Inauguration Ceremony in which the Head of the Village Smt. JageshwariDeshmukh, former Head of the village Shri Mohan Harmukh, Deputy. Head of the village Smt. DileshwariDeshmukh and the district member Shri HarendraDhrithlehre and the villagers participated along with the volunteers.
The volunteers completed all the awareness activities with great dedication and spirit and gave their best contribution towards the development of the village as well the state. For promoting basic health and medical awareness, an “Eye Test program” and “Blood group test and Sickle Cell anemia test” was organized by volunteers in association with the Biotechnology Team of the college. In addition to this, some volunteers interacted with high school students and taught them remarkable lessons on “Good touch and Bad touch, hygiene and Covid vaccination” under the “Blue Brigade Scheme”. Village children were involved with the volunteers in rallies, slogan writing and nukkadnatak throughout the camp and learnt various lessons with them. A voting awareness program was also organized for the common people on the 3rd day of the camp with the deputy District Election Officer Dr. KhemlalVerma and Election Supervisor Shri. T. Balan as chief guests, where the volunteers adopted the unique method of nukkadnatak and beautiful rangoli designs to spread awareness about voting.
The NSS volunteers gave the best example of their dedication towards serving the nation by involving themselves in various activities like morning rallies, awareness programs, nukkadnatak, yoga, exercise and baudhikparicharcha. Apart from this, the volunteers gave the message of preserving our declining culture and nature by getting involved in “Pairadaan- mahadaan, Plantation, learning pottery making and cleanliness”, with the villagers.
On the last day of the Camp, a cultural event has been organized with the great support of the Head of the village and the villagers. Special contributions of MansiYadu Head girl of NSS girls unit, Disha and Pratibha Deputy Head Girls, Hina, Preeti, Nagina, Dipti, Diksha, Ranju and Sonali made the 7 day camp more prospering
Clean India Mission commonly known as the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was a country-wide
campaign initiated by the Government of India in the year 2014. As a part of this cleanliness
drive, NSS Volunteers of Govt. V.Y.T P.G Autonomous college, Durg participated in the
cleanliness drive organised by NSS under the programme ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’.
Principal of the College Dr. S.K. Rajput said, students are the real ambassadors of cleanliness
and motivate others to keep homes and surroundings clean. The NSS Volunteers participated
in creating awareness among the public, informing them about the importance of cleanliness.
Principal of the college also told the students that cleanliness is vital for physical well being
and a healthy environment. The staff members and students took pledge for swachhata and
also promised to follow the advice given by the principal.

National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of GOVT. V.Y.T PGAUTONOMOUS
COLLEGE, DURG organized an oath taking ceremony on 1st August 2017. Program
was led by principal Dr. S. K. Rajput. In his speech Dr. Rajput said,“for a developed
nation we need a clean sorrounding and cleanliness begins from home”. So he
asked all the volunteers to contribute in making college campus clean. He also said
that Mahatma Gandhi dreamt of a clean India which is to be fulfilled by us now.
On the occasion of oath taking ceremony, program officer Dr. Anil Kumar Pandey
asked NSS volunteers to spend 100 hours in year that is about 2 hours in a week to
contribute towards making our country clean. Dr. Anil Kumar Pandey program officer
boys wing, Dr. Meena Maan program officer girls wing, Professor Durgesh Kotangle
co-program officer NSS, Dal Nayak Vijay Kumar Gabhel, Dal Nayika Tileshwari Sahu
and other NSS volunteers gave their enthusiastic contribution in making the program
successful. Total 35 NSS volunteers gave their immense participation the the
program.

Cleanliness campaign& Rally
National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of GOVT. V.Y.T PGAUTONOMOUS COLLEGE,DURGtook part ina rally organized from Kalyan College Bhilai to Bhilai Railway Station. Dr. Vinay Sharma District Coordinator gave green signal to begin the rally. During this rally the NSS volunteers made people aware about the importance of cleanliness through slogans and posters. Dr. R. P. Agrawal, University Coordinator addressed the volunteers with his speech in which he highlighted about the goals and perspectives of our honorable Prime Minister Shri. NarendraModi in making India, a clean through his “Clean India Campaign”. He said that “Clean people and healthy people can make a wealthy country”. There were 30 volunteers from science College Durg who participated in the rally. The team of NSS Science College Durg was led by program officer Dr. Anil Kumar Pandey and Dr. MeenaMaan. Dal Nayak Vijay Kumar Gabhel and Dal NayikaTileshwariSahu gave their enthusiastic contribution in making the program successful.

Cleanliness campaign
National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of GOVT. V.Y.T PG AUTONOMOUS
COLLEGE, DURG organized Swaccha Bharat Abhiyan at Durg Railway Station and
SiyanSadan. The NSS volunteers cleaned the areas near Durg Railway Station and
SiyanSadan and spreaded the message of cleanliness. The NSS volunteers
coordinated with the common people to teach them some waste reducible measures
to make the roads and places of India clean. Dr. Anil kumar Pandey Program Officer
NSS Boys Wing and Dr. MeenaMaan program officer of NSS unit Girls Wing with Dal
Nayak Vijay Gabhel and Dal nayikaTulehswariSahu gave their special contribution
to make the program successful. Total 50 NSS volunteers gave their immense
participation the the rally.

National Unity Day. The NSS Unit of Science College, Durg organized a Rally on National Unity Day for the
Unity and Integrity of India in which students of college participated. This rally was
organized from Rajendra Park Durg to Patel ChowkDurg. The NSS Program officer Dr. Anil
Kumar Pandey and Dr. Meena Man participated in this Rally. The volunteers of NSS raised
their voice with Unity related songs for creating awareness of Unity. There was a session on
Unity was organized in the college for all the volunteers in which all were informed to be
united and professors told that we should think about the country above all the religion, caste
and society.

Blood Donation Camp
National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of GOVT. V.Y.T PGAUTONOMOUS
COLLEGE, DURG organized a “Blood Donation Camp” in association with the Red
Cross Unit of College and the HDFC Bank at the college campus. Total 40 units of
donated blood was collected and given to the blood bank durg. Dr. S K Rajput, the
Principal of College addressed the students and asked them to participate in the life
saving program. Dr. Tarlochan Kaur Program officer of Red Cross unit, Dr. Anil
Pandey and Dr. MeenaMaan Program Officer National Service scheme told that the
students participated in the camp and gave their best in serving the nation. Amit
Thakur and Sunil Borkar branch manager of HDFC bank, Sandhya Pillai branch
manager of branch along with their team and Niraj Singh TLC of the power grid durg
supported the program. According to the information blood donation was completed
with the participation of 50 people. Special contribution of Dr. Shri Ram Kunjam Dal
nayak of integrity club, Vijay Kumar Dal Nayak of NSS, TileshwariSahu Dal nayika of
NSS along with NamitaSahu, VijendraDhankar and MeghaSahu made the camp
successful. Total 65 NSS volunteers gave their immense participation in the
program.

During this rally the volunteers of NSS and YRC made people aware of HIV/AIDS
precaution and treatment through their slogans and posters. Program was led by Dr.
S K Rajput, Principal of the college who in his speech highlighted the major concern
with youth and spread of HIV/AIDS. He also guided volunteers that how can they
spread awareness and be the power which can bring change in the society. Dr.
Tarlochan Kaur, Incharge of YRC said HIV/ AIDS doesn’t communicate from one
person to another by hand shake or having lunch together, so one must behave with
respect towards HIV/AIDS patient..

medicine to students of age group 17 – 19 years. It was a 7 day campaign which
covered around 172 students of mentioned age group. The program was executed

National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of GOVT. V.Y.T PG AUTONOMOUS
COLLEGE, DURG in association with the NCC and Red Cross organized a health
awareness workshop in the Tagore Hall in college campus to promote awareness
regarding the “Impact of Tobacco on immune system” and “Impact of Mobile phones
on human body”.
The chief guests Dr. MunishBhagat from LalBahadurShashtriHospital and
psychologist Dr. ShamaHumdani told the students about the Chemicals present in
the tobacco which damages the body and causes cancers. They also addressed the
students about the disadvantages of tobacco and other harmful addictive products
and asked them to make the community addiction free by spreading awareness. Dr.
Humdani addressed the volunteers and others students with her very informative
speech on the psychological impacts of mobile phones on the mental and emotional
health of the people. The active participation of 75 volunteers made the workshop
more effective and interactive.

Plantation Activities
“The one who plants a tree, plants a hope….”
The National Service Scheme unit of Govt. V.Y.T PG Autonomous College, Durg
participated in conservation activities and tree plantation inside the college campus and in the
nearby areas of the College.
The activities are initiated under the guidance of the program officers of NSS unit of College,
Dr. MeenaMaan (Girls Wing) and Dr. Anil Kumar Pandey (Boys Wing). The volunteers
completed every step of planting a tree from digging pits to watering and nurturing them by
themselves. Plantation of approximately 50 trees were carried out most of which are
medicinal plants and trees. Around 60 volunteers gave their immense participation
throughout the session. The aim of the activities were to encourage more and more people to
preserve nature and create an example of humanity in the society.
Cleanliness Programs
Swacch Bharat Mission (SBM), Swacch Bharat Abhiyan, or Clean India Mission is a
country-wide campaign initiated by the Government of India in 2014 to eliminate open
defecation and improve solid waste management.
With reference to this program National Service Scheme unit of Govt. V.Y.T PG
Autonomous College, Durg conducted a number of Cleanliness programs in the form of
Shramdaan inside and outside the college campus, Swachata Awareness Rallies and
NukkadNatak to spread the message of Clean India Mission to the common people and to
contribute towards making the country hygienic and hence reducing the risks of many
diseases caused by inappropriate disposal of waste.
The activities are initiated under the guidance of the program officers of NSS unit of College,
Dr. MeenaMaan (Girls Wing) and Dr. Anil Kumar Pandey (Boys Wing). Around 50-60
volunteers gave their immense participation throughout the session. The volunteers also
showed their creativity by getting different ideas for awareness like poster making, slogan
creations, nukkadnatak, etc

De addiction programme
A Campaign on De addiction was organized in Village Thanoud by NSS Unit of the College.
In this program the main presentations were NUKKAD NATAK, SLOGANS, RALLY and
oral discussions. The youth of village also participated in the program. The NSS Program
officer Dr. Anil Kumar Pandey and Dr. Meena Man directed the event. Volunteers tried to
create awareness among people with the help of all these events

Digital India Programme& Rally
The NSS Unit of the College participated in the awareness program about SBI Buddy app
organized by State Bank of India Bhilai. A digital awareness rally was also organized from
Science College, Durg to Malviya Nagar Square. All the information about the programme
was provided by NSS Program officer Dr. Anil Kumar Pandey. The information about digital
Banking was provided to all the volunteers by SBI Staff members.

SWACHHATA APP AWARENESS PROGRAMME
The NSS volunteers and students of the college were informed about the SWACHHATA
APP. in the program organized in collaboration with Municipal Corporation of Durg. We can
make our city clean by this app. If you see dirt anywhere then by just clicking up a picture
and upload in this app, you can direct and help to keep the Durg City Clean. NSS Program
officer of College Dr. Anil Kumar Pandey and Dr. Meena Man motivated students for the
awareness in this subject. They told that if every citizen of Durg city will use this app then it
will be a great help for Municipal Corporation to keep the city clean.

Yoga Programme
National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of GOVT. V.Y.T PGAUTONOMOUS
COLLEGE, DURG organized a yoga workshop at the sports hall of the college on
occasion of International Yoga Day. The workshop began at 7:00 am with the
guidance of Dr. S K Rajput Principal of GOVT. V.Y.T PGAUTONOMOUS COLLEGE,
DURG. The workshop was held by the yoga trainers of PatanjaliYogPeethDurg. The
trainers gave information about the importance and techniques of some yogasans
and taught the participants to perform some yogasans like, “Suryanamaskar”,
“Anulom- Vilom”, “Parvatasan”, “Tadasan”, “Shavasan”etc. M A Siddique H.O.D. of
maths department, AnupamaAsthana H.O.D. of chemistry department, Dr. Jagjeet
Kaur Saluja IQAC head, Dr. PrashantShrivastava from Geology department,, Dr. S D
Deshmukh H.O.D Geology department, Dr. Anil kumar Pandey and Dr. MeenaMaan
program officers of NSS unit with all the professors of the college along with Dal
Nayak Vijay Gabhel and Dal nayikaTulehswariSahu and DushyantSahu gave their
special contribution to make the workshop successful. Total 35 NSS volunteers gave
