1. TWO DAYS CAMP AT ANJORA VILLAGE 24th& 25th JANUARY,2020

THEME -VOTERS AWARENESS PROGRAMME AND AWARENESS PROGRAMME FOR GIRL

EDUCATION

Objective: To Sensitize the Voters and raise awareness among villagers regarding Girl

Education

Venue: Village Anjora

No. of participants: 45

Report: The Youth Red Cross unit of Govt.VYT.PG. Autonomous College organized a two day

camp at Anjora village on 24th and 25th January 2020. The objective behind organizing the

camp was to sensitize the villagers about the importance of participation as voters and make

them responsible as conscious citizens. They also campaigned for girl education by reaching out

in groups to the houses of the villagers ensuring the number of children getting education.

45 volunteers participated in this camp keeping in view the motto of the YOUTH RED CROSS

that is Service, Friendship and Health. The volunteers under the guidance of Dr. R.N. Singh and

supervision of Prof-in-Charge Dr.Tarlochan Kaur Sandhu took part in the rally and performed

Street plays based on the themes. Dr.Sunita Mishra and Dr. Anita Meshram of Govt. College,

Khurshipar, Bhilai were invited to address the volunteers on the 2ndday of the camp.

Dr.R.N.Singh, Dr.Somali Gupta, Dr.Anshumala, Dr.Sanju Sinha and other professors visited the

camp to motivate the volunteers.

Outcome: The Volunteers during survey and campaign were able to interact successfully with

the villagers.Moreover they were able to generate awareness for girl education and found that

most of the families were sending their girls to schools.

2. REPORT OF WORLD RED CROSS DAY 08/05/2020

Objective: Tocelebrate the spirit of the volunteers to provide medical help to everyone

without any discrimination.

Venue: District Red Cross Office, Durg

On 8th May 2020,the World Red Cross Day was observed by YRC volunteers as the year 2020 is

to mark the centenary of Indian Red Cross Society,(constituted on 20th March 1920),the motto

was “Keep clapping for volunteers.”The Durg District officer of Red Cross handed over masks

and soap kits for distribution in the colleges for students and faculty to follow the protocol of

hand washing and physical distancing during the pandemic times.

Outcome: All the Youth Red Cross Volunteers are fully trained and are wholeheartedly serving

the communities voluntarily and whenever called upon to do so.

3. REPORT ON ACTIVITIES BY YOUTH RED CROSS VOLUNTEERS DURING LOCK DOWN – COVID-19 PANDEMIC 2020

Under the guidance and supervision of the Principal Dr. R.N.Singh and Professor-in-Charge Dr.

Tarlochan Kaur Sandhu, a large number of Youth Red Cross volunteers of Government VYT PG

Autonomous College, Durg, took initiative to tackle and fight Covid-19 Pandemic in Durg and

Bhilai regions through various activities during the lockdown. Following are the activities listed

below:

In the initial phase of the outbreak of Corona Virus the volunteers of Youth Red Cross

and Red Ribbon Club conducted awareness campaigns to sensitize the locals, making

them familiar as to what Corona Virus is, as an information to the community and

prepare them to control its infection by explaining the symptoms.

The volunteers appealed the public to avoid man gathering, so that a large number of

people could be saved from getting exposed to infection, wash hands regularly and taught

social distancing.

Markets, railway stations, village areas in the suburbs were targeted for distributing

masks, sanitizers, edibles etc.

The volunteers Mridula, Kiran, Bhawna and IshaSahu along with others stitched and

distributed masks to the volunteers and created awareness through posters/collagesand

ensured to “Stay Home Stay Safe”. The volunteers also distributed water and food items

to the needy on the highway.

Volunteered by senior Red Cross Counselors and ex-students of this college SushilAsati,

Dinesh Dewangan, Kirtan Patel, JaishreeKesharwani, AmanUjjavalkar,

RiteshRahengdale, to name a few,AnilDewangan, KartikeyTripathi,

HimanshuManikpuri,Aakash, Tukesh, Kiran, Deepanshi, Isha and many others visited

public places in Durg and nearby areas mainly the markets,shops,banks,houses including

the villages in the neighborhood to generate awareness by explaining the precautions and

preventive measures to be taken during this pandemic.

Awareness was also created through posters, poems, pictures which were displayed and

sent to other groups.

A few volunteers participated in an event of Photography Competition, organized

(online) by The Virtual House, (A Production House at Faridabad) at all India level to

generate awareness regarding Covid-19, in which KartikeyTripathi bagged 3rd position

and cash prize of Rs.1000.

On 23rd March and 3rd April 2020 Anil Dewangan, Dipanshi, Aakash,

Kartikey,RituJoshiand other volunteers participated in an Orientation Program for

response to Covid-19.It was the first time in the history of Indian Red Cross Society to

organize such sessions in the wake of the worst calamity to orient its volunteers to rise.

The training program was facilitated by different departments of Ministry of Health and

Family Welfare,Govt. of India, WHO and UNICEF with inputs from Indian Red Cross

Society.

The volunteers are also engaged in providing all kinds of services not only to the

community but also by taking care of animals on the streets.

4. REPORT : YOUTH RED CROSS ORGANIZES LECTURE ON “ANCIENT

AYURVEDA” ON 27th August,2020

Objective: To get familiar with significance of Ayurveda in curing diseases.

Venue:IQAC

The Youth Red Cross Society, Government Vishwanath Yadav Tamaskar Post-Graduate

Autonomous College, Durg under the supervision of the Principal of the college Dr. R.N. Singh

organized a Lecture on “Ancient Ayurveda” on 27th August 2020.On the said occasion, Mr.

Mohan Kumar Naikkarthe‘Pranik Healer’ was invited as guest speaker. Principal Dr. RN Singh

told how Ayurveda is today useful and beneficial in daily life.Dr. Tarlochan Kaur Sandhu, the

professor in charge of Youth Red Cross, while welcoming the professors present on the

occasion, gave a brief introduction of Shri Naikkarji and threw light on the importance of

Ayurveda. Shri Mohan Kumar Naikkar gave information about the cure of many diseases by

different types of plants. He gave information about the multi-faceted use of Sampanwood

(Pathimugham) and told how by using the herb every day, we can protect ourselves from many

types of diseases. In this difficult time of Covid-19 Pandemic how one can keep himself/herself

safe and gain immunity by using various medicinal plants. Shri Mohan Kumar threw light on the

diagnosis of various diseases using fenugreek, mustard and black pepper and told that we can

protect ourselves from many diseases by using copies of Stevia plant. The programme was

attended by Dr. M.A. Siddiqui, Dr. Mita Chakraborty, Dr. Anupama Asthana, Dr. Jagjit Kaur

Saluja, Dr. Padmavati, Dr. S. K Chatterjee, Dr. ManjuKaushal, Dr. Alka Tiwari, Dr. Ajay Singh,

Dr. NutanRathod, Dr. R.S.Singh, Dr. S. D Deshmukh, Dr. Ajay Pillai, Dr. S. R. Thakur, Dr. Raju

Sinha, Dr. Abhishek Kumar Mishra, Prof. Dilip Kumar SahuYuvrajJanghel made special

contribution to make this event successful. The program ended with vote of thanks.

Outcome-The faculty became familiar with various herbs and their benefits in curing certain

diseases.

5. REPORT ONWORLD AIDS DAY (ONLINE) &NATIONAL YOUTH DAY

(ONLINE) PROGRAMMES

12th January to 14th January,2021

Objective: To provide opportunity to the youth to unite and create awareness in the society to fight against HIV-AIDS.

The Youth Red Cross Society and Red Ribbon Club jointly organized the following competitions

virtually as per the directives of the Chhattisgarh State AIDS Control Organization, Raipur to

observe World AIDS Day on 1st December and National Youth Day on 12th January 2021.

The topics for the competitions were given to the students who participated in the online

competitions organized in the months of December and January.

The students participated in poster making, slogan writing and e-speech competitions which

were judged and later the winners were felicitated with Certificates and Mementos by the

6. REPORT ON‘WORLD NO TOBACCO DAY’

Objective:To Observe World NoTobacco Day on 31st May,2021

Every year on 31st May The World Health Organization(WHO) and Global Partnerobserve

World No Tobacco Day to raise awareness on the harmful and deadly effects of tobacco use and

smoking its and to discourage the use of tobacco in any form. This year the theme was Commit

to Quit. In this regard and as per the instructions of the Principal Dr R.N.Singh, the volunteers of

the YRC observed and took pledge that he/she shall never smoke and consume any type of

tobacco products and also motivate on the occasion family and friends to say No to any use or

consumption of tobacco on World No Tobacco Day on 31st May 2021 virtually following the

strict Government Protocols/Guidelines of Covid-19 Pandemic.

7. REPORT ON PLANTATION PROGRAM IN VILLAGE RISAMA

20th June, 2021

Objective: To generate awareness about Environmental conservation

Place: Risama Village- Date:20th June,2021

The volunteers of the Youth Red Cross Society of Govt. VYT PG Autonomous College, Durg in

association with Oxyzone, an NGO in Durg took part in plantation programme under the

guidance Dr R. N. Singh, the principal of the college and supervision of DrTarlochan Kaur

Sandhu at village Risama with the support of the village Sarpanch Smt. GeetaMahajan.Around

32 saplings of different variety like Neem, Mango,Almond,Gulmohar,Jamun,Jackfruit, Ashok ,

Anwala and other saplings were planted successfully. The volunteers took this initiative during

the second wave of Covid 19 Pandemic to generate awareness about environment and protect

our ecosystem among the masses. Sushil, Anil, Nilesh, Kantibhushan, SoniTondre,

SrishtiChouhan, Raj Dewangan and Lucky Agrawal of YRC and Oxyzone team supported to

make this event successful.

Objective: To raise awareness regarding TB its symptoms and prevention.

Report-As per the directives of Ministry of Health welfare on the occasion of Azadi ka Amrit

Mahotsav@75 India and instructions from the Chhattisgarh AIDS Control Organization, Raipur

an online poster making competition was organized by the YRC and RRC to raise awareness

about TB , its symptoms and prevention on 14 th August 2021.The student participants made

posters and were judged on-line by Dr. Qamar Talat and Dr. Suchitra Gupta.

9. REPORT: AWARENESS RALLY AND STREET PLAY ON WORLD AIDS DAY-

1ST DECEMBER 2021

Objective: To generate awareness about the Spread and Prevention of HIV/AIDS

The Youth Red Cross Society in association with the Ribbon Club ,NSS and department of

MSW of the college organized a huge rally on 1st Dec,2021 to observe World AIDS Day. This

year the theme of World AIDS Day was ‘End Inequalities. End Aids’. The aim was to generate

awareness about the spread and prevention of HIV/AIDS. The volunteers of the YRC and MSW

performed street play on the theme-‘Role of Youth in Prevention of HIV/AIDS ‘ within the

campus and then the rally was flagged off by the principal Dr R.N. Singh. The volunteers were

mentored by the program officers of all the units viz; Dr. Tarlochan Kaur Sandhu, Dr.Meena

Maan, Dr. Anshumala Chandangar and Dr.Nisha Goswami along with the senior volunteers of

YRC. The volunteers also displayed slogans , banners and placards as the rally progressed out of

the campus.

10. Report on Stress Management Session

Venue: Vivekananda Seminar Hall

Objective :To understand and learn to manage stress in life.

Report: The Youth Red Cross Society of Govt. VYT PG Autonomous College ,Durg organized a

session on Stress Management on 14th December,2021 in the Vivekananda Seminar Hall .The

invited guest speaker on the occasion was Dr. Prashant Agrawal, MBBS ,MD in Neuro-

Psychiatry and consultant at J.L.N.Hospital,Sector-9,Bhilai.The session was presided by Dr.

R.N.Singh., Principal of the college and Dr. M.A.Siddiqui was the special guest on the

occasion.Dr. Prashant Agrawal addressed the causes and kinds of stress which the youth usually

come across. Through his presentation he discussed the ways to avoid stress and lead a healthy

life. The students interacted during the session and asked various questions related to stress

management.

Outcome: The students felt relieved after the session and decided to avoid undue stress which

spoils their healthy life style.

1. REPORT ON HEALTH CHECK-UP CAMP ON 26TH SEPTEMBER 2019

Objective: To provide free medical checkup for the students of the college.

Number of Participants: 109

Report: The Youth Red Cross and Red Ribbon Club along with the N.S.S. unit of the college

organized a Free Health check-up camp in the College Auditorium on 26th September 2019. The

doctors Dr. Ajay Govardhan and Dr. Kaushalendra were present with their staff to provide free

medical check up and if required to provide free follow- up treatment to the students, volunteers

of YRC, RRC and NSS. The event was organized on the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma

Gandhi.

Outcome: Around 109 students were the beneficiaries who availed free check-up on the

day.

2. REPORT ON CLEANLINESS DRIVE/ CAMPAIGN AND CYCLE RAILLY ON

THE 150 BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF MAHATMA GANDHI. (02/10/2019)

Objective: To promote the values of cleanliness and sensitize the students about the

importance of clean and green environment.

Number of Participants: 15

Report:A cleanliness drive, plantation of saplings and cycle rally was organized by the

volunteers of YRC,NSS,and NCC on 2nd October 2019 to commemorate the150th birth

anniversary of Mahatama Gandhi. The YRC volunteers cleaned the campus,corridors and

garden area under the supervision of the Principal Dr.R.N.Singh, the volunteers also took pledge

to keep the surroundings clean and green. Later, the professors also planted saplings in the

campus.

3. REPORT ON HIV/AIDS AWARENESS AND ENVIRONMENTAL

CONSERVATION CAMPAIGN AT KOLIHAPURI VILLAGE, NUKKUD

NATAK AND FIRST AID DEMONSTRATION.

Objective: To create awareness regarding HIV-AIDS among the villagers. To raise

awareness about environment through plantation.

Number of Participants: 18

Report: The Youth Red Cross Society of the Govt.VYT.PG Autonomous College Durg

organized a one day camp for the NSS volunteers in village Kolihapuri to create awareness

regarding HIV and AIDS. The objective was also to demonstrate First AID medical facility to all

the volunteers by YRC volunteers so as to provide aid to the needy as and when required. After

the demonstration the YRC volunteers played ‘nukkadnatak’, the theme was ‘HIV/AIDS Disease

and Social Stigma’. Sapling plantation was also done subsequently by all the YRC & NSS

volunteers.

Outcome: The villagers who were hesitant earlier to ask questions related to causes and

prevention of HIV and AIDS disease were comfortable and interacted freely with the professors

and volunteers.

4. REPORT ON A VISIT TO SNEH SAMPADA ON 07TH NOVEMBER 2019

Objective: To make the volunteers aware towards that important part of our society which

is yet to find a voice for the care and upbringing.

Report:On the morning of 7th November, 2019, 50 volunteers of Youth Red Cross Society of

Govt. V.Y.T PG Autonomous college Durg under the mentorship of Dr. Tarlochan Kaur Sandhu

,the Professor in Charge, visited Sneh Sampada School located in Sector 8 Hudco-Bhilai . The

objective behind the visit was to make the volunteers aware towards that important part of our

society which is yet to find a voice for the care and upbringing. The differently abled and

intellectually abled inmates of the school welcomed the volunteers and the Professor-in-Charge.

After the welcome the inmates of the Sneh Sampada sang songs, prayers and danced as well

along with the volunteers. The YRC volunteers talked to the Principal Mrs .Shirke and other

teachers about the activities and progress of the students of the school. Dr.Tarlochan Kaur

handed over 55 pairs of socks and handkerchiefs, 55 Registers and pens for the students to the

principal of the school. The volunteers also distributed biscuits, chocolates and fruits to the

students after meeting each inmate personally. Thereafter they all participated in various

activities.Outcome: After spending the day the Red Cross volunteers were enthused and felt

imbued with the sense of service and responsibility towards community.RahulKumavat, Anil

‘ NUKKAD NATAK’ ON 19TH NOVEMBER 2019

Objective: Provision of toilets for every household and promote safe sanitation and hand

hygiene

Report: World Toilet Day was celebrated on 19th November 2019 to raise awareness amongst

the masses by the volunteers of YRC, RRC and NSS of the college. The chief guest on the

occasion Mr. ArunVora- MLA, Durg addressed the youth and the staff and applauded the

initiatives taken by the volunteers to tackle this sanitation crisis in our surroundings especially in

the villages. He flagged off the rally after seeing the ‘street plays’ performed by the students of

the YRC and NSS. The program officers, Dr. Tarlochan Kaur Sandhu, Dr. Meena Maan, Dr.

Jainendra Diwan and all the faculty members were present on the occasion. Dr. M. A. Siddiqui,

the in-charge Principal appreciated the measures taken by the volunteers for this social cause.

6. REPORT ON “SAY NO” TO USE OF PLASTIC/ POLYTHENE BAGS

29TH NOVEMBER 2019

Objective: To spread awareness to ban the use of plastic or polythene bags.

Number of Participants: 35

Report: The volunteers of the Youth Red Cross and the Red Ribbon Club organized an

awareness rally campaign to promote the use of paper and cloth bags. They beautifully gifted

handmade paper bags to the eminent dignitaries like Dr.ArunaPalta ,the Vice-Chancellor of

Hemchand Yadav University,Durg, Mr. ArunVora- MLA, Durg, Mr. Devendra Yadav- Mayor of

Bhilai, Dr. LaxmiDhruv and other guests present on the occasion. The volunteers took part in the

rally progressed through the streets exhorting the youth and the public to say ‘no’ to plastic/

polythene bags and start using cloth made or paper bags to save our environment. They

distributed paper bags to women and children also during while leading the awareness

campaign. The initiative was highly praised by the Principal and staff members.

Report : On 1st December 2019, World AIDS Day, under the leadership and guidance of the

principal Dr. M. A. Siddiqui, Govt VYT PG Autonomous College, Durg, Youth Red Cross

Society and Red Ribbon Club organised a rally on the awareness against AIDS under the

mentorship of Red Ribbon Club in charge Dr. Tarlochan Kaur. The rally was started after tying

ribbons to Dr. M.A. Siddiqui, Dr. Anil Kashyap, Dr. S.R.Thakur by the volunteers of Youth Red

Cross Society and Red Ribbon Club. The rally was flagged off by Dr. S.N.JHA which started

from the campus of the college and progressed through Malviya Nagar to the main roads of Durg

city forming a human chain.Later, the rally halted at the Science College campus Durg. Dinesh

Dewanagan, Kartikay, Shekhar, Kuldeep, Jainab, Ishu, Rahul Kumawat, Anil Dewangan, Kiran

1. REPORT ON CLEANLINESS DRIVE AT KARANJA BHILAI

11th July,2018

Objective : To promote the value of cleanliness, discipline and respect for the environment.

Report : The Youth Red Cross of college under the able guidance of Dr.S.K.Rajput and

supervision of IQAC organized a Cleanliness Drive (Swachha Bharat Abhiyan) at Karanja

Village on 11th July 2018.The professor in charge of YRC Dr. Tarlochan Kaur Sandhu and

volunteers took part in the cleanliness campaign by rallying in the streets, reaching door to door

enquiring about toilets and water for proper sanitation. The teachers and the students with great

zeal and enthusiasm swept the village areas also.

Outcome: The drive definitely instilled love and respect for environment in the students as they

promised to carry on more such campaigns in other villages also under the aegis of Clean India

and Green India.

Report:On 1st December 2018, World AIDS Day, under the leadership and guidance of the

Science College campus.The students carried banners and posters and raised slogans to generate

1. REPORT ON BLOOD DONATION CAMP

Objective: To sensitize the need of donating blood to the needy in time and motivate to help

others and to instill the feeling of value of blood donation in the volunteers.

Report: On 14th November 2017, a blood donation camp was organised in the college campus

in collaboration with HDFC Bank, Power Grid Corporation, Durg, Youth Red Cross and NSS,

under the aegis of principal, Govt. VYT PG Autonomous College, Durg, Dr S.K. Rajput, and

mentorship of Dr. Anil Pandey, Dr. Tarlochan Kaur, Dr. Meena Mann, Amit Thakur, Branch

manager, HDFC Bank Durg, Sunil Borkar, Sandhya Pillai,Branch Manager of HDFC Bank ,

Bhilai, Kotesh Babu and others. Also, Neeraj Singh of power grid corporation Durg and others

contributed in this blood donation camp .The office bearers and volunteers of Youth Red Cross

Society contributed their best make the programme a huge success .Under the guidance of

medical staff of Govt. Hospital Durg. 55 students and people registered their names and 40 blood

units were collected. Blood donors were given milk, tea and fruits after the blood donation.

Volunteers of Youth Red Cross Society were also felicitated with the Certificates for rendering

their services.

rally was flagged off by the professors in charge of the three wings. It started from the campus of

the college and continued through the highway to the main roads of Durg city and finally ended

after forming human chain in the college. To bring awareness among the people, the volunteers

exhorted the youth and the masses by displaying posters, banners and slogans related to HIV-

3. REPORT ON A STATE LEVEL WORKSHOP ON HEALTH AWARENESS

FOR BOYS

21st February, 2018

Objective: To generate awareness and understanding of mental and overall care for

wellness.

Number of Participants: 219

Report:A State Level Workshop on Health Awareness for Boyswasorganised on 21st

February,2018 in the Tagore Seminar Hall of Govt.VYT PG Autonomous College, Durg,

sponsored by the IQAC. The three wings of the college viz. Youth Red Cross ,NSS and NCC

organized this Workshop under the patronage of the principal, Dr. S.K Rajput. The invited

speakers on the occasion were Dr. MunishBhagat , the General Physician , Lal Bahadur Shastri

Civil Hospital, Bhilai and Dr. ShamaHamdani. Psycologist, Bhilai Nursing Home , Bhilai.In the

first session, Dr. MunishBhagat spoke on “No Tobacco” and elaborately explained the ill effects

of tobacco and smoking and made the students aware of harmful carcinogenic chemicals found

in cigarettes such as DDT, HCHO, Nitrosamines etc. which cause various types of cancers. The

second session was addressed by Dr. ShamaHamdani on as to “How to recognize mental

illness?” She explained depression, insomnia and other psychic disorders affecting the present

generation causing negative stress on their minds due to excessive use of mobile phones. She

motivated the students to be aware of such hazards.Both the sessions were very interactive and

all the students participated in various games and activities and won prizes from the hands of

guests. Around 200 students (including girls) participated in this workshop. The workshop was

convened by Dr. Anil Pandey and organized by Dr. Tarlochan Kaur Sandhu, Dr. MeenaMaan

and Dr. Sapna Sharma. Professors and students from Rajnandgaon ,Bemertara , Kawardha

districts and nearby colleges of Durg and Bhilai participated in the workshop.

Outcome: The students became aware of certain causes and prevention of drugs and use of

tobacco in their day to day life. They also became aware of ill effects of excessive use of

mobiles.

1.REPORT: VISIT TO SNEH SAMPADA ON 16TH NOVEMBER 2016

Objective: To promote disability awareness among the volunteers and sensitize them to

empathize so as to discourage discrimination in society.

Report:On 16th November 2016, 45 volunteers of youth Red Cross Society of Govt. VYT PG

Autonomous college, under the mentorship of Dr. Tarlochan Kaur Sandhu visited Sneh

Sampada. school located in Sector 8 Hudco, Bhilai, for community outreach program service.

The motto of the Red Cross volunteers is to address that important part of our society which is

yet to find a voice, that is the differently abled children of this institution. The children of this

school were introduced to the volunteers of Youth Red Cross Society. The Professor-in-Charge

Dr.Tarlochan Kaur gave the introduction about the Youth Red Cross Society and its objectives to

the children of Sneh Sampada. The children of Sneh Sampada presented a wonderful dance in

front of the volunteers of the college, after that the volunteers of Youth Red Cross Sneh

Sampada. On Society distributed fruits, chocolates and handkerchief among the children of this

occasion the senior volunteers were present- Ganesh Dewangan, Sushil Asati, Shekhar, Jayshree,

Nisha Deshlahre, Ritesh Rangadale, Anil Dewangan and other volunteers of youth Red Cross

Society contributed for this social cause. After spending most of the day together and having fun

with the inmates of Sneh Sampada the volunteers of Youth Red Cross Society felt very much

responsible towards this section of society and decided to provide help in possible ways.

2. AWARENESS PROGRAMME IN THANAUD VILLAGE

"HIV AIDS & DRUG ABUSE”

Objective: To spread Social Awareness regarding HIV-AIDS and Drug Addiction among

the villagers and school children.

Report:On 30th November 2016, Youth Red Cross Society and Govt. VYT PG Autonomous

college, Durg organised one day camp at village Thanaud that has been adopted by the college.

The objective of the one-day camp was to spread social awareness regarding drug addiction

among the villagers and school children of Government Higher secondary school. A large

number of activities for organised by the Red Cross Volunteers and NSS students of the college

the volunteers of Youth Red Cross Society and NSS organized a rally March against drug

addiction to bring awareness against the drug addiction, after that the volunteers presented a

special program for the school students of Higher secondary school. Youth Red cross volunteers

SushilAsati, Dinesh Dewangan, Shekhar, Jayashree and other volunteers demonstrated first aid

in front of students of the Higher Secondary School. There was a speech given by volunteers on

cleanliness and a Nukkad Natak was performed by the volunteers to show the condition of the

drug addicted people. The camp was organized under the leadership of the principal Dr S.K.

Rajput and the mentors Dr. Tarlochan Kaur Sandhu, Prof- in-charge of YRCS, Dr. MeenaMaan,

Distribution of Masks The handmade Masks were prepared and distributed by NSS Volunteers of the College

among villagers & other needy people. The whole program was conducted in the guidance of

Dr.Janendra Diwan (Program Officer Boys). Approximately 35 – 40 volunteers participated

in this program.

Special 7 Days Camp 2021 Report

The ending of the seven day camp of the National Service Scheme, Govt. V. Y. T. PG Autonomous College, Durg has been organized with a cultural event by NSS volunteers on 11th December 2021 at Thanod. The camp was organized under the guidance of Dr. R. N. Singh, Principal of the College and Dr. MeenaMaan, Program officer, National Service Scheme (Girls Unit),Science College Durg.

The camp at Thanod was initiated on 6th December 2021 with the Inauguration Ceremony in which the Head of the Village Smt. JageshwariDeshmukh, former Head of the village Shri Mohan Harmukh, Deputy. Head of the village Smt. DileshwariDeshmukh and the district member Shri HarendraDhrithlehre and the villagers participated along with the volunteers.

The volunteers completed all the awareness activities with great dedication and spirit and gave their best contribution towards the development of the village as well the state. For promoting basic health and medical awareness, an “Eye Test program” and “Blood group test and Sickle Cell anemia test” was organized by volunteers in association with the Biotechnology Team of the college. In addition to this, some volunteers interacted with high school students and taught them remarkable lessons on “Good touch and Bad touch, hygiene and Covid vaccination” under the “Blue Brigade Scheme”. Village children were involved with the volunteers in rallies, slogan writing and nukkadnatak throughout the camp and learnt various lessons with them. A voting awareness program was also organized for the common people on the 3rd day of the camp with the deputy District Election Officer Dr. KhemlalVerma and Election Supervisor Shri. T. Balan as chief guests, where the volunteers adopted the unique method of nukkadnatak and beautiful rangoli designs to spread awareness about voting.

The NSS volunteers gave the best example of their dedication towards serving the nation by involving themselves in various activities like morning rallies, awareness programs, nukkadnatak, yoga, exercise and baudhikparicharcha. Apart from this, the volunteers gave the message of preserving our declining culture and nature by getting involved in “Pairadaan- mahadaan, Plantation, learning pottery making and cleanliness”, with the villagers.

On the last day of the Camp, a cultural event has been organized with the great support of the Head of the village and the villagers. Special contributions of MansiYadu Head girl of NSS girls unit, Disha and Pratibha Deputy Head Girls, Hina, Preeti, Nagina, Dipti, Diksha, Ranju and Sonali made the 7 day camp more prospering

Plantation Activities

“Someone is sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree long time ago”

The National Service Scheme unit of Govt. V.Y.T PG Autonomous College, Durg

participated in conservation activities and tree plantation inside the college campus and in the

nearby areas of College throughout the year to encourage more and more people to preserve

nature and to control the air pollution global warming which is getting worse day by day.

The activities are initiated under the guidance of the program officers of NSS unit of College,

Dr. MeenaMaan (Girls Wing) and Anil Kumar Pandey (Boys Wing).Every volunteer of the

unit has planted at least one tree in the year in association with the whole unit. Trees are

planted both inside and outside the campus and the volunteers also take the responsibilities of

their growth. Around 50-60 volunteers gave their immense participation throughout the

Service Scheme, Science College Durg. The camp at Kolihapuri was initiated on 31st

October 2019 with the Inauguration Ceremony in which the students introduced

themselves to the villagers and asked for their cooperation throughout their camp.

The Camp had a special focus on healthcare awareness and programs and organic

farming for the sake of a healthy country. The volunteers completed all the

awareness activities with great dedication and spirit and gave their best contribution

towards the development of the village as well as the state. For promoting basic

health and medical awareness, “Haemoglobic Test in association with the village

help centre and Blood Group Test by Rajiv

LochanAyurvediccollegeChandrathuri” was organized by volunteers. Along with

this, “Eye Test byJyotiOpticalsDurg”. The volunteers presented a remarkable

lecture session was organized by the volunteers on “use of biogenic agriculture”. On

the last day of the Camp, a cultural event has been organized with the great support

of the Head of the village and the villagers. The enthusiastic contributions of 80 NSS

volunteers made the camp successful.

Dengue awareness Rally

COLLEGE,DURG organized “a dengue awareness program,” on 08/09/2018 under

the guidance of Dr. MeenaMaan , Program Officer (Girls Wing) and Dr. Anil Kumar

Pandey, Program Officer (Boys Wing) in which, NSS volunteer were instructed to

teach people about the causes, symptoms and precautions of the disease dengue to

help the poor and unaware people, the volunteers cleaned the stagnant water in the

locality. The program officers made sure that the work has been completed

according to the rules of the government so that there would be decrement in the

number of patients of dengue. 95 NSS Volunteers participated in the program.

on 15th January 2019 with the Inauguration Ceremony in which the students

their camp. The Camp had a special focus on healthcare awareness and programs

for the sake of a healthy country. The volunteers completed all the awareness

activities with great dedication and spirit and gave their best contribution towards the

development of the village as well the state. For promoting basic health and medical

awareness, a “Sickle Cell anemia test” was organized by volunteers. Along with

this some healthcare counseling and awareness programs were organized by the

team. The volunteers presented a remarkable lecture on “Nutritious food and

Female Foeticide”.Volunteers also spreaded message of cleanliness to the

villagers as dirty area leads to poor health. On the last day of the Camp, a cultural

event has been organized with the great support of the Head of the village and the

villagers. The enthusiastic contributions of 70 NSS volunteers made the camp

successful.

Swachhta Pakhwada Campaign

Clean India Mission commonly known as the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was a country-wide

campaign initiated by the Government of India in the year 2014. As a part of this cleanliness

drive, NSS Volunteers of Govt. V.Y.T P.G Autonomous college, Durg participated in the

cleanliness drive organised by NSS under the programme ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’.

Principal of the College Dr. S.K. Rajput said, students are the real ambassadors of cleanliness

and motivate others to keep homes and surroundings clean. The NSS Volunteers participated

in creating awareness among the public, informing them about the importance of cleanliness.

Principal of the college also told the students that cleanliness is vital for physical well being

and a healthy environment. The staff members and students took pledge for swachhata and

also promised to follow the advice given by the principal.

COLLEGE, DURG organized an oath taking ceremony on 1st August 2017. Program

was led by principal Dr. S. K. Rajput. In his speech Dr. Rajput said,“for a developed

nation we need a clean sorrounding and cleanliness begins from home”. So he

asked all the volunteers to contribute in making college campus clean. He also said

that Mahatma Gandhi dreamt of a clean India which is to be fulfilled by us now.

On the occasion of oath taking ceremony, program officer Dr. Anil Kumar Pandey

asked NSS volunteers to spend 100 hours in year that is about 2 hours in a week to

contribute towards making our country clean. Dr. Anil Kumar Pandey program officer

boys wing, Dr. Meena Maan program officer girls wing, Professor Durgesh Kotangle

Dr. Vinay Sharma District Coordinator gave green signal to begin the rally. During this rally the NSS volunteers made people aware about the importance of cleanliness through slogans and posters. Dr. R. P. Agrawal, University Coordinator addressed the volunteers with his speech in which he highlighted about the goals and perspectives of our honorable Prime Minister Shri. NarendraModi in making India, a clean through his “Clean India Campaign”. He said that “Clean people and healthy people can make a wealthy country”. their voice with Unity related songs for creating awareness of Unity. There was a session on

COLLEGE, DURG organized a “Blood Donation Camp” in association with the Red

Cross Unit of College and the HDFC Bank at the college campus. Total 40 units of

donated blood was collected and given to the blood bank durg. Dr. S K Rajput, the

Principal of College addressed the students and asked them to participate in the life

saving program. Dr. Tarlochan Kaur Program officer of Red Cross unit, Dr. Anil

Pandey and Dr. MeenaMaan Program Officer National Service scheme told that the

students participated in the camp and gave their best in serving the nation. Amit

Thakur and Sunil Borkar branch manager of HDFC bank, Sandhya Pillai branch

manager of branch along with their team and Niraj Singh TLC of the power grid durg

supported the program. According to the information blood donation was completed

with the participation of 50 people. Special contribution of Dr. Shri Ram Kunjam Dal

nayak of integrity club, Vijay Kumar Dal Nayak of NSS, TileshwariSahu Dal nayika of

NSS along with NamitaSahu, VijendraDhankar and MeghaSahu made the camp

successful. Total 65 NSS volunteers gave their immense participation in the

S K Rajput, Principal of the college who in his speech highlighted the major concern

with youth and spread of HIV/AIDS. He also guided volunteers that how can they

spread awareness and be the power which can bring change in the society. Dr.

Tarlochan Kaur, Incharge of YRC said HIV/ AIDS doesn’t communicate from one

person to another by hand shake or having lunch together, so one must behave with

respect towards HIV/AIDS patient..

medicine to students of age group 17 – 19 years. It was a 7 day campaign which

covered around 172 students of mentioned age group. The program was executed

COLLEGE, DURG in association with the NCC and Red Cross organized a health

awareness workshop in the Tagore Hall in college campus to promote awareness

regarding the “Impact of Tobacco on immune system” and “Impact of Mobile phones

on human body”.

The chief guests Dr. MunishBhagat from LalBahadurShashtriHospital and

psychologist Dr. ShamaHumdani told the students about the Chemicals present in

the tobacco which damages the body and causes cancers. They also addressed the

students about the disadvantages of tobacco and other harmful addictive products

and asked them to make the community addiction free by spreading awareness. Dr.

Humdani addressed the volunteers and others students with her very informative

speech on the psychological impacts of mobile phones on the mental and emotional

health of the people. The active participation of 75 volunteers made the workshop

more effective and interactive.

participated in conservation activities and tree plantation inside the college campus and in the

completed every step of planting a tree from digging pits to watering and nurturing them by

themselves. Plantation of approximately 50 trees were carried out most of which are

medicinal plants and trees. Around 60 volunteers gave their immense participation

throughout the session. The aim of the activities were to encourage more and more people to

preserve nature and create an example of humanity in the society.

Autonomous College, Durg conducted a number of Cleanliness programs in the form of

Shramdaan inside and outside the college campus, Swachata Awareness Rallies and

NukkadNatak to spread the message of Clean India Mission to the common people and to

contribute towards making the country hygienic and hence reducing the risks of many

diseases caused by inappropriate disposal of waste.

The activities are initiated under the guidance of the program officers of NSS unit of College,

Dr. MeenaMaan (Girls Wing) and Dr. Anil Kumar Pandey (Boys Wing). Around 50-60

volunteers gave their immense participation throughout the session. The volunteers also

showed their creativity by getting different ideas for awareness like poster making, slogan

creations, nukkadnatak, etc

De addiction programme

A Campaign on De addiction was organized in Village Thanoud by NSS Unit of the College.

In this program the main presentations were NUKKAD NATAK, SLOGANS, RALLY and

oral discussions. The youth of village also participated in the program. The NSS Program

officer Dr. Anil Kumar Pandey and Dr. Meena Man directed the event. Volunteers tried to

create awareness among people with the help of all these events

Digital India Programme& Rally

The NSS Unit of the College participated in the awareness program about SBI Buddy app

organized by State Bank of India Bhilai. A digital awareness rally was also organized from

Science College, Durg to Malviya Nagar Square. All the information about the programme

was provided by NSS Program officer Dr. Anil Kumar Pandey. The information about digital

Banking was provided to all the volunteers by SBI Staff members.

SWACHHATA APP AWARENESS PROGRAMME

The NSS volunteers and students of the college were informed about the SWACHHATA

APP. in the program organized in collaboration with Municipal Corporation of Durg. We can

make our city clean by this app. If you see dirt anywhere then by just clicking up a picture

and upload in this app, you can direct and help to keep the Durg City Clean. NSS Program

officer of College Dr. Anil Kumar Pandey and Dr. Meena Man motivated students for the

awareness in this subject. They told that if every citizen of Durg city will use this app then it

will be a great help for Municipal Corporation to keep the city clean.

Yoga Programme

National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of GOVT. V.Y.T PGAUTONOMOUS

COLLEGE, DURG organized a yoga workshop at the sports hall of the college on

occasion of International Yoga Day. The workshop began at 7:00 am with the

guidance of Dr. S K Rajput Principal of GOVT. V.Y.T PGAUTONOMOUS COLLEGE,

DURG. The workshop was held by the yoga trainers of PatanjaliYogPeethDurg. The

trainers gave information about the importance and techniques of some yogasans

and taught the participants to perform some yogasans like, “Suryanamaskar”,

“Anulom- Vilom”, “Parvatasan”, “Tadasan”, “Shavasan”etc. M A Siddique H.O.D. of

maths department, AnupamaAsthana H.O.D. of chemistry department, Dr. Jagjeet

Kaur Saluja IQAC head, Dr. PrashantShrivastava from Geology department,, Dr. S D

Deshmukh H.O.D Geology department, Dr. Anil kumar Pandey and Dr. MeenaMaan

program officers of NSS unit with all the professors of the college along with Dal

Nayak Vijay Gabhel and Dal nayikaTulehswariSahu and DushyantSahu gave their

special contribution to make the workshop successful. Total 35 NSS volunteers gave

their immense participation the the workshop.

NATIONAL CADET CORPS

AWARENESS FOR AROGYASETU APP

2nd May 2020

An awareness campaign was organised by the college and 37 CG BN Durg to create

awareness on covid-19 . Through WhatsApp communication and online conference the

cadets recommended the students, teachers and citizens to download Arogya Setu App.

The app link was sent to the students mobile number. 478 citizens have downloaded the

app successfully and have given their confirmation

Total 110 cadet of our college have participated in the campaign.

MONUMENTS CLEANING CAMPAIGN

(SWACHH BHARAT ABHIYAN)

6th January 2017

37 CG BN DURG have organised a campaign to bring awareness to keep surrounding clean

among the people residing at Durg city. Total 95 cadets of GOVT. V.Y.T. PG Autonomous

college Durg have participated in the campaign. The aim of the campaign is to contribute in

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan by cleaning the monuments of various junctions in Durg city .

Mass awareness created by the cadets. They have encouraged people to join in swacchata

activity.
