Monitoring Mechanism
World Bank Core Committee and Oversight Team headed by the Principal will monitor and supervise the implementation and progress of the action plan through regular meetings.
Resources
Rich Human Resource, i.e., 77 regular faculty (98 sanctioned posts), 52 Guest Faculties in different subjects,
more than 150 supporting staff are available for smooth implementation of the Action Plan.
Sufficient Financial resources are available in the College as more than 3600 students are admitted in the
College yearly.

Benchmarking
Benchmarking is a technique of Governance designed to improve the quality and efficiency of public
services. In essence, benchmarking involves comparing specific aspects of a public problem with an
ideal form of public action (the benchmark) and then action on to make the two converge.
Department of Higher Education, Govt. of MP in collaboration with World Bank has devised MP
Higher Education Quality Improvement Program which is a novel approach to support the Govt. of
MP in implementing the version of Higher Education sector in terms of Quality Higher Education.
Brief Profile of the Institution
Govt. Science College, Jabalpur is one of the oldest Higher Education Institution of Central India
established in the year 1836. College is awarded ‘A’ Grade by NAAC in all the three cycles; 2002,
2011 and 2019. Probably this is the only college in the state who has been awarded ‘A’ grade in the
revised framework of NAAC (online submission of SSR). The College has been declared as ‘Centre
of Excellence for Science Education’ in 2002. UGC New Delhi selected this college as ‘College with
Potential for Excellence’ in Higher Education in all the three phases 2004, 2010 and 2014. Further,
UGC New Delhi has selected this college for special heritage status out of nineteen colleges selected
in the whole country. College imparts Science Education in 15 subjects with 23 combinations
courses in B.Sc., and BCA at graduation level, Post Graduation in 7 subjects, and Research Courses
in six science subjects. It is worth mentioning that this College is the only Govt. College in State
imparting UG, PG and PhD Courses in Environmental Science Subject.
Activities
Higher Education Governance Screening Card (HEGSC) of Govt. Science College, Jabalpur was
tested on 02nd
