The matter was last discussed in the 92nd

meeting of Expert Committee held on 24/10/2018 and the

Committee recommendation to import of 2465 nos. of used test and measurement equipments for the

purpose of rent to customers subject to the condition that items will be re-exported within period of

three years from the date of issue of the permission and according Ministry issued the permission

letter vide dated 08/03/2019.

Now the applicant informed that theses equipments can only be operated with the use of certain

accessories, being integral part of the equipment. They have also informed that the customs

authorities need a clarification that the permission includes standard accessories along with the

equipments.

Accordingly, the applicant requested to issue a clarification.

2.1.6. M/s Qualcomm India Pvt. Ltd., Hyderabad (F. No. 23-40/2016-HSMD)

(For retention of item imported against the previous permission)

The applicant had imported 152 no. of refurbished electronic goods vide O.Ms. dated

26/05/2016 with the condition that all the equipments will be re-exported within a period of three

years. The applicant has informed that the equipment is critical to be retained in India for continued

support to Qualcomm Incorporated customers and OEMs and requested to retain these items under

the amended notification dated 11th June, 2018.

2.1.7. M/s Hewlett-Packard India Software Operation Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore (F. No. 23-

The applicant had imported 136 nos. of used servers and Storage equipments on loan basis

vide O.Ms. dated 8/10/2015 with the condition that all the equipments will be re-exported back
