_, MANUFACTURERS wishing to obtain an allocation for:the six-month period commencing on the Ist January, 1983,for the goods requiring preferential duty certificates, andmentioned in the Schedule, should apply to the Secretary forTrade. and Commerce, Private Bag 7708, Causeway, not laterthan the 10th December, : 1982.
Manufacturers wishing to obtain an allocation for the -coming period in respect of ‘clothing mentioned in Part IVof Annexure B to the Trade Agreement between Zimbabweand the Republic of South Africa (published in RhodesiaGovernment Notice 811 of 1964), should apply to the Zim-babwe Clothing Council; -_ The following information must be given in the letter. ofapplication: name, address, description of goods for whichallocation is required, South ‘African tariff item, as quotedin the trade agreement, allocation requested (quantity andvalue), present annual capacity in respect of goods concerned(quantity and value).
Notes1. Attention is drawn to the special provisions for Zim-babwean content, as set out in the agreement.
Allocations will be expressed-in terms of value for dutypurposes, as laid down in the South’ African Customsand Excise Act.
Certificates will’ be valid for two months from the dateof issue, provided that certificates issued during the lastmonth of anallocation period will be valid only untilone month after the.end of that period. ,If an allocation is not used in full by a manufacturer towhom itis granted, the manufacturer’s allocation maybe reduced in the following period by an appropriateamount. .
