AUSTRALIAN GREENS The Greens are only 20 years old. The Greens look after the environment. More than 1.6 million Australians voted for the

Greens in 2010 and their support is growing. The Greens stand for the balance of the needs

of today and the needs of tomorrow. Other than environmentalism the party cites

four core values: ecological sustainability, social justice, grassroots democracy and peace and non-violence

AUSTRALIAN LABOUR PARTY

Labour's constitution states: "The Australian Labour Party is a democratic socialist party and has the objective of the democratic socialisation of industry, production, distribution and exchange, to the extent necessary to eliminate exploitation.

Labour believes in hard work, jobs for the people and good pay and good working conditions.

E.g: The teachers keep going on strike because they want more pay for the hard work they do. Julia Gillard is the Prime Minister of Australia

and the leader of the labour party.
