1 Trip Summary A spectacular trek that takes in the wonders of the highest mountains in the world and the richness of the Sherpa, Tamang and Newari cultures of Nepal in equal measure. Begin your journey in Kathmandu, the final stop along the infamous Hippie Trail and immerse yourself in its kaleidoscope of sensations. Leave the city behind as you embark on a grand trek that swiftly gets you away from the crowds. This route takes you far off the beaten path and offers you an insight into the “real Nepal”. Be inspired as you walk through awe inspiring landscapes, passing through remote Himalayan communities, verdant valleys, holy lakes and towering peaks. This is one of the world’s greatest destinations for pure adventure, exploration and authentic cultural experiences. Important: The Gosainkunda Lakes and Helambu regions are off the main tourist trails and therefore the teahouses are quite rustic home-stay type accommodation. There are always no more than two people to a room and they are clean. We spend a couple of nights above 3500 m and it can reach below freezing. You will be comfortable with a decent sleeping bag which can be rented from us. We always allow plenty of time for acclimatisation on all our trekking expeditions. This trip is considered to be fairly demanding. We regularly take people of all ages on this trek, including many people into their late 60’s. There are some of days where we will walk up and down steep hills for 6-8 hours. As always on our treks there is plenty of staff and we can accommodate everyone's trekking pace. We appreciate that in a group there will be many different speeds of walker and we don't ever want you to feel like you are holding up a group or being held up. Having plenty of guides and porters allow for us to change itineraries and pace easily. We trek into a fairly remote part of Nepal at higher altitudes than you are probably used to. As with most things a certain degree of fitness will make this trip more enjoyable. All trips are guaranteed to run. Welcome to Nepal, let the adventure begin! GOSAINKUNDA LAKES AND HELAMBU TREK Adventurous Trek into the High Valleys of the Langtang Trip Duration: 14 Days (shorter and longer itineraries available on request) Highlights Climb the high passes of the Langtang National Park Experience traditional Tamang and Sherpa culture The UNESCO Kathmandu Valley and Temples Panorama looking over 3 of the worlds 8000m peaks Escape the crowds on this trek Lush valleys and spectacular landscapes Visit remote Himalayan mountain communities Relax and absorb the atmosphere at the Holy Gosainkunda lakes 4×4 Jeep trip into the Himalayas A chance to climb a 4500m peak A fully supported and well-organised expedition
