Remembering The Life Of ~ Gordon Orvin Gilbertson was born on April 5, 1928 to Gustav and Olga (Enger) Gilbertson in Tansem Township, MN. He grew up on various farms around Barnesville. He attended country school through the 8 th grade. He served in the Army from 1954-1956 serving in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; Fort Eustis in Virginia; and Thule Greenland. He was united in marriage to Claudia Delores Bekkerus on October 28, 1955 at the Assembly of God Church in Barnesville, MN. After Gordon’s military ser- vice, they made their home east of Barnesville, MN where they farmed with his father and brother, before taking it over. He retired from farming in 1993. After retirement, he rented out his farmland, but continued to help the renters out for quite a few years. Gordon’s interests included hunting and trapping. He also liked to do land- scaping, planting trees and evergreens. He is survived by four children: Robert “Bob” (Kim) Gilbertson of Barnesville, MN; Marlene (Dale) Neuschwander of Barnesville, MN; Lu- cille “Lucy” (Phil) Kemper of Fargo, ND; and Arthur (Michele) Gilbertson of Kindred, ND; nine grandchildren: Jessica, David, Ruth, Elizabeth and Joshua Gilbertson, Emily (Daley) Monson, Benjamin, Cameron, and Levi Gilbertson; one brother Orrie (Arlene) Gilbertson, Pelican Rapids, MN; and one sister Etta Bekkerus, Glyndon, MN; and many nieces and neph- ews. Gordon was preceded in death by his wife Claudia in 2013; his parents; one sister Martha (Vern) Shaner; and a nephew Elwood Shaner. Gordon passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at the Palliative Care Unit of Sanford Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota at the age of 88 years, 8 months and 8 days. May his memory be blessed. Remembering The Life Of ~

Gordon Orvin Gilbertson was born on April 5, 1928 to Gustav and Olga
