The Neverending Story

Cooperation of heritage institutions

The Pančevo City Library has been promoting cooperation of heritage institutions and digitization of cultural heritage for years, through “Čitalište : the Scientific Journal on Theory and Practice of Librarianship”.

At the end of 2013 it raised the issue of digitization in local frameworks by promoting “Digital Atlas of the Cultural Heritage of Serbia”.

By the VIP project, the Library wants to encourage the digitization process and to create:

• a portal that will unite all individual presentations

in the city

• a portal with friendly environment, modern, interactive, functional and easy to search

The Weifert Brewery

The Weifert Brewery was ruined in the big fire in 2008.

Two beacon towers, at the confluence of the Tamiš river and the Danube, built in 1909 at the time of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, are the only surviving pair of lighthouses on the entire course of the Danube.

In the ideal point we shall encompass all manifestations of the city in real life at the intersection of historical verticals and the present moment, with futuristic projections and possible parallel realities, as well as facilities and appearances which no longer exist since they disappeared without a trace in time behind us.

In the initial phase, special attention of the creators is directed to the conceptual, technical and structural aspects of the project.

By the end of 2014, we plan to set up initial version of VIP.
