LONG BEFORE YOU START YOUR GOOGLE HANGOUT MEETING, COMPLETE THE STEPS BELOW!

IF YOU DO NOT COMPLETE THE STEPS YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE

TO START YOUR HANGOUT MEETING!

STEP 1 - Getting the Google Plus Account

1. Go to google.com

2. Click on +You

Click “Create an account”if you don’t already have

one with Google

Fill out the informationform on the right then click “Next step”

Make a note of yourLogin information:User ID & Password

Click Continue to Google+

Click upgrade

Click Continue

Click Finish

Click the Home tab on the left.

STEP 2 YOUTUBE VERIFICATION

STEP 1 - Getting the Google Plus Account

Click “Hangouts”

Hangouts Home Page

Click Start Hangout On Air

Fill out the form

Click “X” to make the video private

CLICK SHARE

TYPE IN INSTRUCTORS EMAIL

[email protected]

CLICK SHARE

Click “Connect account”

Click here verify account

Click “OK”

You now havea YouTube account!It is automatically

connected with Google+

Click the Google+ tab to return to the hangout page

Click Start a Hangout On Air

YouTube may need to verifythe account. Follow theverification instructions.

Enter your phone numberthen click Submit.

Enter the verificationcode, then click Submit.

Once verified, click Continue

Now you are almost ready tostart a “Hangout on air”

You will need to add your classmates to your Google “Circle”

It’s very similar to addingfriends on Facebook

In Google+ Click on the Home menu and click

“People”

Type in the name of your classmateIn the “search for anyone box”

Click “add” under your classmate’s nameand check which circle to add them to

Repeat this process for the rest ofyour classmates.

Friend requests are confirmed byclicking “Have you in circles”

and clicking add under the name

Once you and your classmatesare confirmed friends you

can start a “Hangout on Air”with them as participants!

Fill out the form

Click “X” to make the video private

Click Type your instructors

email in the “Audience” box &

Click “Share”

You may be asked to install aGoogle+ Plugin

Follow the directionsto install the plugin

Type

Type the names of your classmatesthat have been added in your Google+ Circle

Click

Then click “Invite”

Click

Check the box to agree tothe terms then click continue

Once all of your guests havejoined click “Start Broadcast”

Click

Your communication assignmentis now being recorded on YouTube.

Click “Stop Broadcast” when you’re finished.

You will see this confirmationthat your assignment is complete

and now available for your instructorto view on YouTube
