Introduction

• It is a type of wearable technology with an optical head-mounted display (OHMD).

• Displays information just like a Smartphonebut in aHands-free format.

Development• Google Glass was developed by Google X.• Google x is a semi-secret facility run

by Google dedicated to making major technological advancements.

• Project Glass is a research and development program by Google to develop an Augmented Reality (AR) Head-Mounted Display (HMD).

Touchpad• A touchpad is

located on theside of GoogleGlass, allowingusers to controlthe device byswiping througha timeline-likeinterfacedisplayed on the screen. Sliding backward shows current events, such as weather, and sliding forward shows past events, such as phone calls, photos, circle updates, etc.

Voice Input• Other than the

touchpad,Google Glasscan be controlledusing"voice actions".

• Wearers can say an action, such as "Take a picture", "Record a video“, etc.

• Voice command is done through the microphone.

Disadvantages :• It can easily get damaged or broken. Users will have

a tough time taking care of it.• It may lead to accidents while driving.• The video and camera can be misused and anybody

can capture anything without letting the other person know about it.

• Another main disadvantage is the overall cost which is around $1500. With this much money there are many more technology driven things that can be bought.
