Sharing the good news of God’s Love through his Son to our local community and world!

    Plan of Salvation: John 3:16

For God so loved the world, that he gave hisonly begotten Son, that whosoever shall believein him should not perish, but have everlasting

    life.

    Romans 10:9

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the

Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart thatGod hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt

    be saved.

A Message From Good News Press

The Christian message is often referredto as the "Gospel," which means "goodnews." Specifically, it is the good newsabout Jesus — who He is, what He hasdone, and what He offers. Essentially, the

message is that Jesus was God in theflesh, that He came into the world toreconcile humanity to Himself, and thathis salvation is freely offered to each per-son who will respond in faith. The Gos-pel message explains that salvation is on-ly possible through the Crucifixion andResurrection of Jesus. Through his sacri-fice, Jesus paid the price for our sinful-ness (rebellion against God), thus offer-ing us forgiveness. Then through his Res-urrection He conquered death, removing

it as the penalty for our sin and replacingit with the offer of eternal life that is onlyavailable from Him to all those that placetheir faith in Him.

What Is Good Friday? Good Friday is a holiday celebrated by theChristian Church in commemoration of

the day Jesus died on a cross. Christiansbelieve that the death of Jesus as a willingsacrifice paid the penalty for the sinfulnessof humanity. As a result, we can receive

    forgiveness today.

Christians around the world consider Jesus to have been God in the flesh — thesecond member of the Trinity. (The Trini-ty is the understanding that God is one inessence but exists with three centers ofpersonhood.) Seeing the hopeless and

sinful condition of humanity, he chose toenter into Creation in the form of theman, Jesus Christ.

Arriving as a baby born to a virgin namedMary, Jesus grew up among us. At aboutthe age of 30, Jesus began his public minis-try of teaching, healing, and proclaimingthe Kingdom of Heaven.

Three years later, the Jewish religiousleaders (who felt threatened by Jesus’

    rising popularity) conspired against him.

The Bible describes how they paid peopleto give false accusations against Jesus, im-

plying that Jesus was rebelling against theRoman authorities that were ruling overIsrael at the time.

Jesus was subsequently arrested, put ontrial, and sentenced to execution by cruci-fixion. After verifying that he was dead bythrusting a sword through his side, theRomans allowed the body to be takendown and buried in a tomb belonging to

Joseph of Arimathea. Guards were sta-tioned to watch over the tomb to ensure

that no one, especially the disciples, triedto do anything to the body.

The Bible reveals that this was all part ofGod’s plan from the beginning. Several

Old Testament prophecies written centu-ries earlier foretold the crucifixion of Je-sus in detail — even before crucifixion be-

came a common form of execution.

So why was the death of Jesus necessary?According to Christian teaching, God is a

God of love as well as a God of justice.

His love desired to offer forgiveness to allof humanity for its sinful rebellion against

him. But his justice demanded that wrongsbe punished, and the punishment for re-bellion against God is death. So the solu-tion was for God to become a man andpay the penalty in our place.

However, Christians also recognize that Jesus’ death was only temporary. On thethird day — the day we know as Easter — his tomb was found empty. Over the nextforty days, hundreds of eyewitnesses re-ported seeing Jesus alive. He had walked

with them, taught them, and eaten withthem. Their conclusion: Jesus had risenfrom the dead.

Today, Christians still observe the GoodFriday/Easter weekend as pivotal to theirfaith. All of Christianity hinges on thedeath of Jesus and his subsequent resur-rection from the dead. It teaches that, because of his death, we can experienceforgiveness. And because of his resurrec-tion, we can know his has authority over

    life and death.

    A-Cross-This-Nation Ministry said that

they are not in the business of sellingcrosses, but it doesn't take much time foran individual to go to their nearest lum-ber store and buy two boards and build across with the family and place it in thefront yard. You can even add lights to it.Mr. Lee said he leaves his lights on hiscross, all night those three days, so peo-ple at night can see the beauty of theCross.Today, our Christian Faith is under attackon every front, at home and abroad. Wemust take a stand and show the worldthat Jesus is alive and this is an importanttime of our lives to inspire our current

generation to Love and live a Christianvalued life. Our Country was founded onChristianity and we must pass this on toour children.

Mr. Lee said, "Visualize this…. A family isdriving home one Friday night after goingto the movies and as they are drivingthrough the neighborhood, they see thisCross with lights on it in front of a house,as they drive a little further down thestreet, they see another house with across in the front yard with lights on itand all of a sudden, one of their kids inthe back seat asks: Daddy, what does theCross mean?" (A perfect way to witnessto children, family and friends)

The ministry is asking that you join them

Hints to MinistersEXPECT much, and much will be

    given. Souls are perishing every

day; and our own entrance into

    eternity cannot be far dis-

tant. Let us, like Mary, do what

we can, and no doubt God will

bless it, and reward us openly.

Seek to be lamb-like; without this

all your efforts to do good to

others will be as sounding brass,

    or a tinkling cymbal.

Get much of the hidden life in

your own soul; soon it will make

    life spread around.

Never forget that the end of a

sermon is the salvation of the

    people.

"Cleave to the Lord;" not to man,

    but to the Lord.

Do not fear the face of man.

    Remember how small their anger

    will appear in eternity.

O, fight hard against sin and the

devil. The devil never sleeps; be

    ye also active for good.

But an inch of time remains, and

    the eternal ages roll on forever;

but an inch on which we stand

and preach the way of salvation

    to the perishing world.

It is not great talents God bless-

    NOAH was a preacher of

    righteousness, God's cho-

    sen servant to warn the

    world of its approaching

    destruction. "My Spirit shall

    not always strive with

    men," saith the Lord, "for

that he is also flesh; yet his

    days shall be an hundred

    and twenty years."

    Gen.vi,3. Noah was a just

    man, and walked with God,

and found grace in his sight,

    He was directed to make

an ark to save himself and

    family from the threatened

    deluge. And as he warned

    the people, he showed his

faith in the coming flood, by

his works, in building theark on dry ground.

    Says Paul: "By faith Noah,

    being warned of God of

    things not seen as yet,

    moved with fear, prepared

an ark to the saving of his

    house; by the which he

    condemned the world."

    Heb.xi,7. The antediluvians

    then had the means of

    knowing that the flood was

    coming, or Noah's preach-

    ing, and corresponding

    works, would not have

    condemned them. Yet they

    knew not till the flood

    came and took them all

    away.

But as the days of Noah

    were, so shall also the

coming of the Son of man

    be." Matt.xxiv,27. In con-

    nection with this text, our

    Saviour mentions the spe-

cial signs of his coming, in

    the sun, moon and stars,

    and adds. "Now learn a

    parable of the fig-tree;

when his branch is yet ten-

    der and putteth forth

    leaves, ye know that sum-

mer is nigh; so likewise ye,

when ye shall see all these

things, know that it is near,

even at the doors." It is

    evident, then, from these

words of our Lord, that it

    was the design of Heaven,

that the period of the com-

ing of the Son of man

    should be understood, and

    published to the world, as

the period of the flood was

    understood, and pro-

    claimed by Noah.

But in what respect will the

coming of the Son of man

be like the days of Noah?

Will it be like it in all re-

spects? - Or will it be like

the days of Noah in some

one particular? - It is im-

    portant that this should be

    understood. Peter shows

    that the world, once being

    overflowed by water, per-

    ished, and that the heavens

    and the earth, which are

    now, are reserved unto

    fire; that as the unbelieving

    world once perished by the

    flood, they will be de-

    stroyed from the presence

of the Lord when he is re-

    vealed from heaven in flam-

ing fire. But this is not thesimilarity of the two peri-

ods of time referred to by

our Lord. We will now let

him point out in what re-

    spect the two periods are

    alike.

    Verses 28,29. "For as in

    the days that were before

    the flood, they were eating

    and drinking, marrying and

    giving in marriage, until the

    day that Noe entered into

the ark, and knew not until

    the flood came, and took

them all away; so shall also

the coming of the Son of

    man be."

As the Saviour has stated in

    what respects the two peri-

ods would be alike, we will

    only make a few remarks

    upon his words. He has

    plainly shown: 1. That as

    Noah knew the period of

the flood, and warned theworld, so, by the special

signs, (with a mass of other

    evidence from the prophe-

    cies,) the period of the

coming of the Son of man

    would be understood by

    the faithful servant, and the

    world warned of the judg-

ment at hand. 2. That as

    the antediluvians disbe-

    lieved the preaching of No-

    ah, and perished by the

    flood, so the proclamation

of the coming of Christ will

be rejected by the mass of

mankind, and the day of the

Lord will come on them as

    a snare. As the antediluvi-

    ans, who rejected the evi-

    dence of the coming flood,

knew not till the floodcame and took them all

    away, so those who reject

    the evidence of the Lord's

    coming, will not KNOW

    that the storm of God's

    wrath is coming, till it

    bursts upon them, "For

    when they shall say, peace

    and safety, then sudden

    destruction cometh upon

    them," "and they shall not

    escape." 1Thess.v,3. 3. As

Noah believed God, pre-pared the ark, and, with

his family, was saved, so a

    few will believe God's

    word, and prepare, wait,

    and watch for the coming

    Saviour, be sheltered in the

day of wrath, and will be

able to say, "Lo, this is our

    God, we have waited for

him, and he will save us."

    "But ye, brethren," contin-

ues Paul, "are not in dark-

    ness, that that day should

overtake you as a thief." -

Verse 4. If we could see

salvation for any, in the day

    of the Lord, while remain-

    ing in unbelief, we would

proclaim it; but as we see

    that the salvation of souls

depends on faith in thewarning designed to be

    given, and corresponding

    works, and a full prepara-

    tion, our whole soul cries,

    Believe, and prepare! For,

"behold the day of the Lord

    cometh, cruel both with

    wrath and fierce anger, to

    lay the land desolate; and

    he shall destroy the sinners

    thereof out of it." Isa.xiii,9.

    The preaching of Noah

    should have been believed;

and if any had believed the

    flood was coming, a decid-

    ed change would have tak-

    en place in their course.

They would have acted outthat faith, and, like Noah,

    prepared, instead of "eating

    and drinking, [feasting and

    mirth,] marrying and giving

    in marriage," as though they

    were to enjoy long life.

    We say that saving faith

    then would have produced

    an entire change. Their

    lives would have been

    marked by humiliation and

    abstinence. So will saving

faith in the coming of theLord, produce an entire

    change in the believer.

    "And take heed to your-

selves, lest at any time your

    hearts be overcharged with

    surfeiting [eating] and

    drunkenness, and cares of

this life, and so that day

    come upon you unawares."

Luke xxi,34. - To eat to

    sustain nature is necessary;

but feasting was a sin in the

days of Noah, and it is no

less a sin now. Hear the

    wise man: "Feed me with

    food convenient for me,

lest I be full and deny thee,

and say, who is the Lord?"

    Prov.xxx,8,9.

    The marriage covenant was

holy in the days of Noah,

and it has not, since that

time, lost a whit of its sa-

    credness. But if the antedi-

    luvians had believed the

    preaching of Noah, they

    would not have been mar-

rying till the day that he

    entered the ark. Those

    who are waiting for the

    coming of the Lord should

    beware of taking a course

    that would prevent them

    from being wholly the

    Lord's. Read 1Cor.vii,32-

    34.

    Noah condemned the

world. This he did, by hisworks being in accordance

    with his profession. There-

    fore the antediluvians will

not in the Judgment rise up

    and condemn Noah. And

    will not unbelievers rise up

    in the Judgment, and con-

    demn those who profess to

    believe that the last mes-

sage of mercy is now being

    given, unless they show, by

    carrying out all the holy

principles of their faith, thatthey really believe what

    they profess? How is it

    possible for those who

    believe that the period has

come for the third and last

    message to be given, and

that the vials of the wrath

    of Almighty God are soon

to be poured out, to eat

    and drink, buy and sell,

plant and build, &c., as they

did in the days of Lot and

    Noah? We say, they will

    not. True faith will have

    corresponding works.

    We would not drop a

    word here to encourage

    any mortal in idleness; but

we desire that those whoare all buried up in the

    cares and spirit of this

    world should feel the force

    of this subject. Many, when

    they are first aroused by

    the evidences that the last

    message of mercy is being

    given, feel that they must

    consecrate themselves to

    God, and what they pos-

    sess to the advancement of

    his truth. But soon the

cares of this life, and the

    love of the world, over-

    come them, and they fall

into a stupid state of mind.

    O, may God have mercy

upon us as a people, and

give us to feel the im-

    portance of showing by our

works, that we really be-lieve what we profess.

    Brethren and Sisters: - Are

    you imitating Lot, who fled

    from the place which was

    the scene of destruction?

Or are you all buried up in

    the cares of the world,

given, feel that they must con-

    secrate themselves to God,

and what they possess to the

    advancement of his truth. But

soon the cares of this life, and

the love of the world, over-

come them, and they fall into

a stupid state of mind. O, may

God have mercy upon us as a

people, and give us to feel the

    importance of showing by our

works, that we really believewhat we profess.

Brethren and Sisters: - Areyou imitating Lot, who fledfrom the place which was thescene of destruction? Or areyou all buried up in the caresof the world, unnecessaryeating, drinking, [tea,] buying, selling, planting and building,as was the case with those on

    whom God rained fire and

brimstone? Are you imitatingNoah, who prepared the arkon dry ground, in which heinvested his earthly treasures- what an act of faith! - or areyou imitating those who knewnot, till the flood came, andtook them all away?

There was an hour when No-ah's warning ceased, when heentered the ark, and God shut

him in. Then the rain de-scended and the period ofanguish of the hitherto care-less world came. Worldswould then have been givenfor a place in the ark; but Godhad shut the door.

Soon the warning of the thirdangel will cease. Christ willleave his priestly work in theSanctuary, and the way now

open to find salvation from sin

through his blood will be forever closed. O, dreadful hour!Worlds then would be givento be placed back in the peri-od of Christ's merciful inter-cession; but as time neverrolls back, hope is gone forever. O, what anguish willthen seize the soul that hasslighted mercy's hour. It willthen be said, "He that is un-

just, let him be unjust still: and

he which is filthy, let him befilthy still: and he that is right-eous, let him be righteous still:and he that is holy, let him beholy still." Rev.xxii,11. Care-less soul, remember that "asthe days of Noah were, soshall also the coming of theSon of man be."

    Paramount's NOAHmisses potential faith-

Movie, studios are targeting 46million Faith Driven Consumerswho spend $1.75 trillion annually. While recent films such as SONOF GOD and GOD'S NOT DEAD are exceeding expectations at theUS box office, the organizationfinds that NOAH has underper-formed its opening weekendrelative to its potential with a

faith-based audience."10 years ago, THE PASSION OFTHE CHRIST , an independent,Biblically-themed film with a $30million dollar production budget, raked in nearly $84 million ingross earnings, in 2004 dollars, during its opening weekend. Thatfilm, which grossed nearly $612million worldwide, garnered theenthusiastic and passionate sup-port of Faith Driven Consumers.THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST  blended high production values

with a strong adherence to thecore Biblical message and narra-tive. The largest grossing inde-pendent film of all time, THEPASSION OF THE CHRIST  afford-ed Hollywood an historic 'ah-ha'moment as industry experts rec-ognized the power of the FaithDriven Consumer audience, anaudience hungry for high-qualityentertainment choices that reso-nate with their deeply held, Bibli-

"By contrast NOAH, a film with a$125 million production budgetand the promotional backing ofone of the world's leading studi-os, grossed only an estimated$44 million, in 2014 dollars, atthe box office during its openingweekend. This film, which devi-ates far enough from the Biblicalmessage and narrative as to ren-der the original story largelyunrecognizable, has clearly failedto garner the broad support of

Faith Driven Consumers. Para-mount is free to make whateverkind of film it wants to make, butthe company's leadership wouldbe well-advised to consider thetens of millions of dollars theyhave already left and the hun-dreds of millions they will poten-

tially be leaving on the table.

"What kind of records couldNOAH have shattered if the film'stone and story had resonatedwith faith-based audiences asthey did with THE PASSION? Par-

amount will never know."We are confident that the nextblockbuster that targets FaithDriven Consumers -- and alignsclosely with expectations of thiscore audience -- will realize un-paralleled success. THE PASSION remains a strong favorite in faithcommunities across the nationtoday. Will the same be said of

    NOAH?"

Faith-friendly films GOD's NOTDEAD and SON OF GOD continueto shatter expectations. GOD's

NOT DEAD is smashing expecta-tions, it saw a meager 1% dropthis weekend compared to open-ing weekend, taking in another$9 million to add to its $9.2 mil-lion opening.
