1. How the Admissions are made in BCE?

BCE is a Jain Minority College in Karnataka State. There are

two types of seats available in BCE.

(i) Government seats (40%) filled by KEA (Karnataka

Examination Authority) CET Cell depending upon the

Karnataka CET ranking.

(ii) Management seats

(a) 50% are filled by the Management of BCE based on

the merit of the student (both Jains and Non-Jains) from

different states considering their respective state CET / JEE

ranking.

(b) Remaining 10% seats are filled by the Management of

BCE without considering any CET Ranking of the student

provided he/she has to satisfy the Eligibility Criteria.

2. What are the Eligibility Criteria for Admission to BCE?

a. Admission Criteria will be fixed by the Affiliated University

from time to time. Present Admission Criteria are as follows:

b. The candidate must satisfy eligibility criteria mentioned under

either i) or ii) below.

i) Pass in 2nd PUC / 12th Standard or equivalent examination

with English as one of the languages and Physics and

Mathematics along with Chemistry / Bio-Technology /

Biology / Computer Science / Electronics as optional subjects

and obtained a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate in the

optional subjects. (40% in case of students belonging to

reserved categories. This is applicable to only Karnataka

candidates).

ii) Pass in three years Diploma course in appropriate branch

of Engineering (or equivalent examination) with minimum

of 50% marks in the third year.

3. To which University BCE is Affiliated?

a. BCE is Affiliated to “Visvesvaraya Technological University

(VTU), Belagavi”. You can find details about VTU at

www.vtu.ac.in

4. What shall I do to take Admission under Management Quota

in BCE?

a. You need to satisfy the eligibility criteria. (See Q.2)

b. You can download admission application form from the

college website and send it by ‘speed post’ after duly filling

it. Enclose Xerox copies of the 2nd PUC / 12th Standard or

equivalent examination marks card and CET rank proof.

c. If you are found eligible, you will be called for counseling at

BCE.

d. You will be allotted seat as per the availability.

e. You have to confirm your admission after submitting all

original marks cards & certificates and paying the fees.

5. How can I get the admission application form?

The admission application form can be got by any one of the

following methods

a. In person: Pay application fee of Rs. 500/- in the College

office and collect the form.

b. By post: Send the request to the Principal, along with a DD for

Rs 550, drawn in favour of “Principal, Bahubali College of

Engineering” and payable at Shravanabelagola or at

Channarayapatna. [Add additional Rs.70/- for DD payable at a

place other than Shravanabelagola or Channarayapatna]

c. From website: Visit college website www.bce.org.in and

download the form.

2. What is the fee structure for different courses in BCE?

a. Fee Structure (Maximum Limit) for the Management Seats

will be fixed by the Karnataka Government from time to time.

b. BCE, being the Charitable Institute run by SSDJJP Sangha

under the patronage of His Holiness Charukeerthi Swamiji,

there will be “No Donation/No Capitation”.

c. To encourage middle/weaker section of the society, further

reduction is provided in the fees fixed by the Government.

d. For the Academic Year 2021-22, the tuition fee structure is as

3. How much Tuition Fees the student has to pay in II, III and

Final year?

The student has to pay the same amount of Tuition Fees for all

four years what he/she pays in the first year.

4. What are the benefits to the Jain Students in BCE?

a. Many Trusts give scholarships to the Jain Students. BCE

provides the list of such Trusts to the students. Students can

apply for these scholarships.

b. Many Central/State Govt. scholarships are available to the Jain

students.

c. Shravanabelagola is treated as “Jain Kashi”. Students get

Religious/Spiritual atmosphere around them to groom

themselves.

d. On request, food shall be provided before sun-set in the hostel

mess.

e. For all Jain students, Rs. 10,000/- concession is given in the

Tuition fees under “Charushree Scholarship Scheme” (Refer

to the college website).

5. Is it compulsory to have CET Ranking of any state for

Admission at BCE?

No. But you need to satisfy the minimum eligibility criteria. (See

Q.2)

6. How can I book my admission seat at BCE?

After satisfying the eligibility criteria (See Q.2), by submitting

all original marks cards & certificates and paying the fees you

can book your seat at BCE.

7. What if I cancel my admission at BCE after paying the fees?

The fees paid will be returned after deducting Rs. 10,000/- if

cancelled before August 2021. After that date full fees paid will

be forfeited. You will be returned your original marks cards and

certificates.

8. What is the college working hours for the students?

a. Monday to Friday : 9 am to 4.30 pm

b. Saturday : 9 am to 12.50 pm

c. Sunday : Holiday

a. Book Bank Facility from Second Year onwards: Every

student who secures first class in the previous semester will be

provided with a set of books at the beginning of every semester

which has to be returned to Library after the University

examinations.

12. What is the BCE College Ranking in Karnataka State?

a. Generally, no ranking is given by the University to any

Engineering Colleges in Karnataka.

b. By considering the cutoff ranking of the students admitted to

the college (input) and the final results of the outgoing

students (output), we definitely stand in top 25 colleges in

Karnataka

13. What is the procedure to get admission to the Hostel?

After the admission to the College, a student may apply for

admission to the hostel on a separate application form which is

available with the Warden / Manager of the hostel. The

allotment of the hostel is on first come first served basis and

depending on availability. Hostel Fees are as follows:

Maintenance fees - Rs. 13,500/-

Hostel Deposit - Rs. 5,000/-

Mess Deposit - Rs. 1,500/-

Mess Charges - Rs. 25,000/-

The total fee of Rs. 45,000/- should be paid through DD

drawn in favour of “BCE Hostel Maintenance A/c”

payable at Shravanabelagola [Add additional Rs.70/- for

DD payable at a place other than Shravanabelagola or

Channarayapattana]
