COURse DesCRIpTIONsNORThOur championship golf course, the North Course, is the original 18 hole course in Rockville, and was designed and constructed by Course Architect Alfred Tull. The greens are USGA built with A4 bentgrass and Penncross bentgrass from tee to fairway. Its Grand Opening was on July 26, 1950.In 1999, the North Course went through an extensive renovation, including replacement of the original 18 greens. The renovation was done by renowned Course Architect Arthur Hills.
sOUThIn August of 1957, a fourth 9 hole course opened. The “Iron Duke” was eventually converted into a regulation 9 hole course, was combined with the other 9 holes. The push-up greens are a bentgrass/Poa mix and the fairways are Meyers zoysia. The newly designed course premiered on Labor Day of 1961 as the South Course that we enjoy today.
