How about good teammates? When are they made? How would you describe a good teammate? Here are a few attributes of a good teammate: • You care as much about your teammates as you care for yourself • You respect your teachers and coaches equally • You feel a sense of community • Winning is more important than individual fame • You set a good example both on and off the field of play. • Good teammates are made by striving to do the right thing all day long and all season long Being a good teammate is contagious in a positive way. When every player on the team really cares about every teammate, the formula for success is in the making. Do you have what it takes to be a good teammate? TEAM UPDATES Boys Basketball Varsity lost to Pendleton Heights 74-59 (team record is 5-8, 1-3 in HHC) Shelbyville was led by Cooper Lewis with 17 points, Zach Kuhn 16 points and John Lux with 10 points

IHSAA TIP OF THE WEEK

TEAM UPDATES Boys Basketball Varsity lost to Pendleton Heights 74-59 (team record is 5-8, 1-3 in HHC)
Shelbyville was led by Cooper Lewis with 17 points, Zach Kuhn 16 points and John Lux with 10 points
JV lost to Pendleton Heights 56-48 (team record is 6-6) Luke Reed led the team with 17 points and Jacob Hartwell added 10 points
9th lost to Perry Meridian 32-30 (team record is 5-6) 9th defeated Pendleton Heights 27-25 (team record is 5-5)
Kaleb Hodson and Garrett Davis each scored 8 points as the Golden Bears defeated the Arabians
• 9th/JV/V travel to Richmond, Friday, January 22nd for games at 6:00 and 7:30 pm • 9th/JV/V host Greenfield Central, Saturday, January 23rd at 6:00 and 7:30 pm • 9th/JV travel to Columbus East, Monday, January 25th for 6:00 and 7:15 pm contests
Girls Basketball Varsity lost to Whiteland 41-26 (team record is 10-9, 2-4 in HHC)
Once again the Golden Bears struggled to score points, but were only down 14-7 at halftime as their defense continued to keep them in the game. They were outscored 17-6 in the 3rd quarter as the Warriors pulled away. Morgan Parker led the team with 7 points
Varsity defeated Mt. Vernon 43-37 (team record is 10-8, 2-4 in HHC)
The Golden Bears picked up a huge road win as Cora Reinhart had 17 points, Morgan Parker chipped in 10 points and Alexis Tackett 8 points. The team led 8-0 after the 1st quarter, 12-6 at halftime and 24-17 after the 3rd. The 10 wins is the most for the varsity team since the 2006-07 season
JV lost to Whiteland 55-20 (team record is 6-13)
Alexis Wilson scored 5 points for the Lady Golden Bears JV lost to Mt. Vernon 31-24 (team record is 6-12)
The Lady Golden Bears led 16-11 at halftime, but could only manage 1 point in the 3rd quarter as they were outscored 10-1 and Mt. Vernon held on for the win. Shey Tillison scored 9 points
• JV/V host Delta, Saturday, January 23rd at 1:00 and 2:30 pm • JV/V travel to Triton Central, Tuesday, January 25th for 6:00 and 7:30 pm contests • JV/V travel to Hauser, Thursday, January 28th for 6:00 and 7:30 pm contests
