From The Desk of The Director,
It seems that we have arrived at the time of year to put away our favored
steeds and realize that riding season is over. We can now only hope that
winter comes and goes quickly, and that the new year will bring new ad-
ventures. With that said we are now putting the finishing touches on our
Christmas Party which will be on December 12th at Oakhurst Tea Room,
2409 Glades Pike Rd, Somerset, PA 15501 Social Hour will be at 5 PM, and
Dinner will be at 6 PM. We will once again be in the Spangler Room with
our own buffet. There will be a 50/50 drawing and we are seeking your in-
put at the November gathering for suggestions on a Christmas themed
contest for the party. There is no charge for Chapter “T” members to at-
tend, and the deadline to register is November 30th . See Flyer attached
for registration. Hope all are doing well and look forward to seeing you at
the gathering on Nov. 13th and the party on Dec. 12th .

Greetings fellow Chapter T Gold Wingers,
As we say goodbye to October and say hello to November, I realize that Thanksgiving is a few weeks away, but I cannot help but think of the things I am truly thankful for.
To say that 2020 so far has been a stressful year is a bit of an understate-ment. Every time you watch the news or read the newspaper; the Covid-19 is the major story. But I try to be the optimist and look at all the good things I have. I think that is what we all need to try to do. Don’t focus on all of the negative being put out there but look at the positive things that are happen-ing. If you need a good laugh, come to the next Chapter T gathering. We are very good at poking fun and making others laugh.
We are looking forward to the Chapter T Christmas party of December 12 at the Oakhurst Tea Room. Check out the flyer on the website. Social hour be-gins at 5:00 and dinner at 6:00. It sounds like a fun time is being planned. Chapter T is paying for the dinner for chapter members this year. This is a great opportunity to celebrate with your Chapter T friends and family. Make sure you come so you don’t miss the fun.
Hope to see everyone soon. Be safe!

Is your chapter changing any officers for 2021? Leadership is key to your chapter. So, support your chapter and step forward and accept an officer po-sition, Chapter Director, Chapter Treasurer, Chapter Ride Coordinator, Chap-ter Membership Enhancement Coordinator or become part of the chapter team. We would like to get as many officer change forms in this month as possible. Contact us, your PA District Director and let us know about the change and we will assist you with your paperwork. Thank you for stepping forward and volunteering. Officer Conference is being held via Zoom Meetings this year. What does that mean, you get to stay at your home and have a video meeting with the PA District Team. We have condensed the meeting to two hours instead of a day event. The majority of the Chapter Officers have signed up for the con-ference and we thank you! If you are an officer or will be one in 2021 and you are not signed up for Officer Conference, contact us and we will work with you to join one of the remaining time slots.
Looking forward to 2021:
Couple of the Year FUN Day – will be March 13, 2021 at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Clearfield. Glenda and John Leib, PA District Couple of the Year Coordinators, have a FUN day planned for everyone that attends. PA District Rally – “Ride Back in Time” is May 20-22, 2021 in Cranberry Township, PA located 25 miles north of Pittsburgh at the Pittsburgh Marriot North. It is a beautiful hotel and location. The rally flyer is posted on the PA District website and listed under events on the GWRRA PA District page on GroupWorks. Get your registration in soon to reserve your spot, if you plan on taking an Advanced Rider Course (ARC), a Trike Rider Course (TRC), Road Captain Course (RCC) or the Medic First Aid® (MFA).
Don’t forget your room reservations by calling the hotel at 800-853-5574 and use code GWRRA to get our discounted room rate and breakfast or make your online reservation by using the link on the flyer, PA District website or GroupWorks. It’s November and during this month we take time to be thankful and enjoy our time with our family and friends. We are very thankful for each and every one of you and thankful for GWRRA since we would have never met without this wonderful organization. Remember to always ride safe! Harold and Diane Jackson
FROM YOUR PA DISTRICT EDUCATOR
Hi Everyone:
With the arrival of the fall riding season, comes some of the most beautiful
scenery mother nature can give us so take advantage of those few remain-
ing days of riding.
In case you do ride in the cold, remember that cold catalytic converters al-
low water to exit the exhaust system at stop signs and/or traffic lights. This
water can freeze creating a very slick surface just about where your tires
may be when coming to a stop or starting out.
As you start to think about the 2021 riding season here are some things for
you to ponder, as well as some SAFETY TIPS to think about during the long
winter season:
You feel better about going to your doctor knowing that he has
the proper medical training.
You would feel more confident going to traffic court knowing that
your lawyer had the proper legal training.
YOU AND YOUR CO-RIDER WILL ENJOY MOTORCYCLING A LOT BETTER
KNOWING THAT YOU HAVE THE PROPER RIDER EDUCATION AND
TRAINING.
Make a commitment to improve and practice your riding skills in 2021 and become in-
volved in the Rider Education Program.
Some Safety Tips to consider as you prepare your bike/trike and yourself for the up-
coming riding season:
Tip #1: Check/tighten the screws that hold the face-shield on your helmet to
prevent them from ripping off in the breeze.
Tip #2: The T-CLOCK inspection list that should be hanging on the wall next to
the Wing. Follow it!
Tip #3: One thing forgotten is that your riding skills will be sharply off. Amazing
how a bit of down time can reduce your skills. When you first start back riding, take it
easy for a bit and refresh your skills. Allow your body to “remember” how to ride.
Tip #4: If you are a winter rider, WATCH out for everything, remember no one
will be looking for a motorcycle this time of the year, so take nothing for granted,
THEY MAY NOT SEE YOU.
Again, we encourage everyone to get involved in the Rider Education program to im-
prove your riding skills and knowledge so that you and your passenger enjoy the ride
and return home safely.
Remember, ALL THE GEAR ALL THE TIME. (ATGATT)
