UNIVERSITY OF LIVERPOOL. ESTABLISHED 2006 IN SUZHOU, CHINA

Objectives:

• To create a new, self standing Chinese university with the

potential to become a world class institution for teaching

and research

• To meet China’s education goals through acting as an

innovative model for other education providers

• To embed internationalisation from the outset for students

and staff

GOVERNANCE AND PARTNERSHIP MODEL

• Independent University with own regulatory framework and recognised under

license by the Chinese Ministry of Education

• Board of Directors includes President of XJTU (Chair) and Vice-Chancellor of

University of Liverpool (Vice Chair)

• Senior Management Team: secondment from Liverpool at Vice President level
