A Bengali-language feature of Jerome D'Costa based on his compilation of humorous anecdotes from the life of Pope John XXIII (1881-1963). Who said a bishop, cardinal or pope need to be stiff-necked, solemn and unreal? Pope John XXIII has shown the way. His humility mixed with humour positively affected numerous people who came in contact with him. After doing a sculpture of this pope, Italian communist and atheist sculptor Giacomo Manzu changed his mind about God and converted to Catholicism. This humble pope is the one who had started the renewal and updating in the Catholic Church by convening the Second Vatican Council (1962-1965).
