Goals Committee

•Why did this committee form?Goals have been an important piece of the Evergreen education from as far back as Janet can remember (and that is a long time). Teachers noticed a need to streamline the process for goal setting and make it accessible to all involved.

•Who are we?Volunteers from each grade level advisor as well as our counselor and tech teacher.

Why set SMART goals

The upper division wants a system that• Is meaningful (teaches the process and the need

for setting and attaining goals).• Is consistent between grade levels while

allowing for each grade levels’ particular needs.• We can search by subject, grade, advisor,

student and year.• We can add to, change, update and use with

parents at conferences.• Is easy to use by teachers and students.

Committee Brainstorm

• All upper division Advisors become acquainted and more comfortable with the Student Moodle Goal Setting Tool.My goal is to teach you how to use Moodle and gain familiarity with the system

• All teachers to use Moodle and help students to write/organize their goals.

• Teachers will leave this presentation with familiarity of how students will be using Moodle to input their goals.

• For all to understand how this tool is useful• Teachers logging on, teachers have used it with their

students, teachers finding where students need to go to

• Our goal is to teach the SMART goal process and support teachers in using Moodle. We will know that we have reached this goal by the students’ and teachers’ use of the system at their goals conference.

• Develop awareness around the decisions that I make daily and how they impact my ability to accomplish my goals. What decision can I make that would have a positive impact on my goals?

• Under “course categories”- click on “Goals”

• Advisors input goals for two week period • Remember the theme for your grade:• Goes to specialist to input for a week

• Back to advisor to review and revise• Conferences- share with parents add to at or

after conferences as needed.• Check on goals progress

• Final goals check in and assessment for portfolio
