Go Anywhere Hammock (GAH) Stands Set-up Instructions 1. Twist the first tie down anchor into the ground using the provided installation tool. The GAH stands are designed to hold up to 400 lbs, however, the actual weight limit will be determined by how well the ground anchors are set. The earth anchors that come with the GAH stands are 30 inches long. Ground conditions can vary greatly from hard to soft soil or sand conditions. The ensure a strong hold the ideal, installation depth of the anchor is where the eye is at ground level as shown in the picture above, however, there will be times when this can’t be achieved. To accommodate scenarios where the anchor’s eye can’t be twisted all the way to ground level a beam clamp is also provided to create a grasping point for the GAH carabiner clip as shown in the photo below. Note: Wait to install the second anchor till step 4 but the tie down anchors will end up approximately 12 ft to 13 ft apart depending on the hammock used. Warning! Make sure anchors are fully installed. Failure to properly install the anchors will prohibit the GAH stand from supporting the hammock and person(s) weight. A simple test is to pull up on the anchor with moderate force after installed and ensure it remains secure in the ground. If the anchor pulls out of the ground with relative ease it is not installed deep enough or the ground is too soft. Caution! Ensure desired install locations of anchors are clear of utility lines. Some water utility lines can be buried less than 18 inches. Sprinkler and cable lines can sometimes be buried only a few inches deep in the ground.
