Globalization:
Globalization is deeply controversialPROS: Proponents of globalization argue that it allows poor countries and their citizens to develop economically and raise their standards of living. ( connect to wider markets, increase personal/national income, access to diverse non local foods) CONS: Opponents of globalization claim that the creation of an unfettered international free market has benefited multinational corporations in the Western world at the expense of local enterprises, local cultures, and common people. ( child labour, sweat shop exploitation, outsourcing jobs, international black markets )
Issues with Globalization:
Global Trade: competitiveness and offshoring/outsourcing, labour exploitation.
Movement of people: immigration, westernization cultural diffusion, disease spread
