Educational Acts

The Education Act 1961

- Parliament passed this act based on the Razak

Report and the Rahman Talib Report.

- Implementation of National Education System.

The Education Act 1996

- To incorporate preschool education within the

national education system.

The Private Higher Educational Institution Act(PHEI)

- To increase private sector participation in

tertiary education.

- Allows the private sector to establish degree

awarding institutions.

- Allow the set up of foreign universities

Conducted by Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia

(UKM)

Main aim is to develop a suitable system of

16 being chosen from all over the country.
