Global Warming

Page 2: Global warming

What is Global Warming?

• The gradual increase in the temperature of the earth's atmosphere

• Believed to be caused by the greenhouse effect

Page 3: Global warming

What is the Greenhouse Effect

• The trapping of heat due to the greenhouse gases

• Greenhouse gases such as:Carbon dioxide (CO2)Water vapor (H2O)Methane (CH4)Nitrous Oxide (N2O)

• Water vapor and Carbon dioxide are largely responsible for natural greenhouse effect

• Excesses Carbon dioxide, Methane, and other gases can lead to enhanced greenhouse effect

Page 4: Global warming

What are Some Consequences of Global Warming?

• Climate changeslike warmer winters, heat waves

• Rising of sea levels• Droughts

forest fires, unsuitable for agriculture• Increase in the number of tropical storms

Hurricanes and tornadoes• More random weather patterns

Page 5: Global warming

How to Stop Global Warming?

• Reduce the use of fossil fuel• Plant trees (Go green!)• Reduce Waste (Recycling)• Conserve water and electricity• Switching over to renewable energy sources

Interview Questions• What do you think of Global warming? Do you

believe in it?

• Do you believe that global warming can be the cause of all the natural disaster?

• What do you think might happen in the future?

Page 8: Global warming

Interview Answers• Yes, I believe in it. I think that it’s very real and if the industrialize

countries won’t do anything bout it a there will be severe consequences such as climate changes, droughts, storms, glaciers will start to melt and which leads to flooding and destruction of the ecosystem

• No, not all the natural disaster but there is a connection. Hurricane, tornados are strong evidence that these storms are related to global warming. There will be extreme weather patterns.

• If the rest of the world address the problem we can slow the global warming. If the rest of the world can reduce pollution t will be more stable. If we ignore the problem, we can face severe implications.

Global Warming Increasing Rapidly

• Recently there was a floods that hit Kilembe in Kasese district.

• NASA-led study provides new evidence that global warming may increase the risk for extreme rainfall and drought.

• The study shows for the first time how rising carbon dioxide concentrations could affect the entire range of rainfall types on Earth.

• The models project for every 1 degree Fahrenheit of carbon dioxide-induced warming, heavy rainfall will increase globally by 3.9 percent and light rain will increase globally by 1 percent.

• Rain will get extreme due to global warming• http://www.newvision.co.ug/news/642363-rain-will-get-extre
