    Immigration to America

    The United States of America is one of the greatestcountries in the world today.

    This country is unique in that it is made up of people

    whose ancestors came from all over the world to bettertheir lives.

    Freedom is the motivation that continues to attract people

    to this great land, the land of opportunity.

    Civil Rights Movement

    1954 1968by: Kane Fuhrman

    The following photos will serve as a visual timeline of people and

    events that helped shape the history of the American society. The

    quest for social equality and justice was led by Dr. Martin Luther

    King Jr. in a non-violent revolution. The Supreme Courts decision

    to integrate public schools, Emmett Tills murder, the arrest of Rosa

    Parks, and the Montgomery Bus Boycott led by Dr. King kicked off achain of events that would change our society for the better. The

    Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965 would

    eliminate legal segregation and discrimination in our nation. All of

    Americas people can now have equal opportunities to live in a

    society that protects their freedom.
