Partnering For Success
Partnering for Success focuses on both what employees achieve and how they
achieve it, and emphasizes:
Clarity – knowing what is expected of people.
Capability – enhancing skills for now and the future.
Collaboration – underscoring the importance of partnership between
managers and employees.
At the center of Partnering for Success is the process itself, which officially kicks off
with the Year-End Review. First is the self-review, then the matrix and direct manager
reviews, followed by the performance conversation. Helping employees showcase
their talent and focus on areas to improve are descriptions of the 18 Behaviors that
Matter, from being “open to new ways of doing things” and “focused in stressful
situations,” to being “the source of many good ideas” and “willing to admit mistakes.”
Managers and employees alike can also take the Conversational Excellence
challenge, which invites people to imagine, “What would it feel like if the quality of our
conversations were more trusting, more engaging, just plain better?”. Performance
Conversations are included among the various types of conversations.
Visit the Partnering for Success site for additional information.

Day 90 and Beyond
Over the course of your first three months, your priorities have likely begun to shift
from learning about the organization and your role, to completing objectives and
making progress on your goals. By your fourth month, you should feel capable and
comfortable in your everyday tasks.
The following suggested learning activities should be accomplished across your
first year at AIG. Completing these will support your development and also serve
to enhance your career.
Technical Training
Once you have learned the basics of AIG, business-specific technical training is
important for furthering your career. Learning (visible under View by Role on the
Talent Connection Learning home page) is organized by job function and family.
From your fourth month on, check in regularly with your manager for the best
training suggestions.
Professional Profile
Use the Professional Profile in Workday to let your manager know about
your work experience, education and skills. You can click on the button
Import from LinkedIn to bring in your current LinkedIn profile.
Career Profile
The Career Profile (also found in Workday) is a great way to let your
manager know all that you’ve accomplished, as well as where you want to
go in your career. Update this frequently so that it accurately represents
you, your capabilities, and your interests.
New Hire Pulse Survey (Months 6 and 9)
You’ll once again receive an invitation to complete the New Hire Pulse Survey at
the close of the 6th and 9th months from your date of hire with AIG. While your
feedback is actively encouraged, participation is voluntary. All responses will be
confidential. We ask that you are thoughtful and reflective in completing the
survey, providing open and honest responses.
