Necessity of Isuzu Own Scan Tool for the Next Term• GM decided to develop a PC-based scan tool. As a result, Tech2 does not have a priority for further
development. Also, the development of the PC-based scan tool is slow and Isuzu cannot depend on
their development schedule.
→ Discontinuation of GM joint development• Adoption of electronic control devices much accelerated for enhanced emission control and safety
control.
→ Higher skill level is required for repairing. • Numbers of scan tool and other surrounding device are required due to high performance control
module protocols and OEM vehicles.
Background of G-IDSS Adoption
New Scan Tool ⇒ evolving to the overall service tool• Carry-over of current functions: Tech 2 functions (data display, data download & upload,
programming)• Connection to internet: Data correction & information distribution• Linking with manuals • MIMAMORI/ DRM data downloading & analyzing • Others……….
