The 2nd Global Forum for Innovations in Agriculture (GFIA), the world’s largest showcase of game-changing innovations in sustainable agriculture, is to be held in Abu Dhabi from March 9-11th 2015, under the theme ‘Driving Innovation for an Agricultural Revolution.’
The world will have to feed 9 billion people by 2050. To do so will require a wave of innovations and new technologies that will drive the future of global agriculture. GFIA helps address this challenge.

EVENT SNAPSHOTTHE EXHIBITIONOver 120 exhibitors from around the world including national pavilions from USA, Pakistan and The Netherlands.

OPENING CEREMONYAttended by over 1,400 delegates as the world’s leading innovators gave their vision for an agricultural revolution.

PLENARY PROGRAMMEThe main theatre hosted a series of keynote addresses and panel debates including The Big Investment Debate, The E-Agriculture Revolution and The NGO Revolution.

THE INNOVATIONSAcross four theatres and 27 themes, 150 speakers had just 15 minutes to convince the audience why their innovation will change the way we feed the world.

ROUNDTABLE DEBATESA fantastic opportunity to tackle subjects in depth, as groups of 10 delegates discussed the challenges and opportunities of a particular theme.

INCUBATOR ZONE The place to find the next BIG idea in agriculture. This area presented ideas from 19 entrepreneurs and start-ups looking for partners to support the development of their innovations.

NGO FOCUSWith NGOs annually channelling US$billions into agricultural technology in developing nations, NGOs have an important role to play in GFIA. The NGO Pavilion hosted 17 organisations spearheading sustainable agriculture projects across the MENASA region and Sub-Saharan Africa.

CLOSING CEREMONY & MINISTERIAL DISCUSSSION Hosted by the UAE Minister of Environment and Water and involving Ministerial delegations from Zambia, Kenya, Ghana, Tanzania and Angola, this final session focussed on what steps need to be taken to speed up the adoption of innovations in Africa.

TECHNICAL TOURS Delegates enjoyed a range of technical tours to sustainable agriculture projects in the UAE, including the hi-tech greenhouses at Al Dahra and the UAE’s only caviar factory.
