ABOUT

AIESEC in Aveiro is one of the 8 local committes of AIESEC in Portugal.

Inaugurated on July 18, 2008, AIESEC in Aveiro has six years of existence. Our headquarters is located in the center of Aveiro, University of Aveiro, among our customers. We have over 2500 companies in the city and about 15 000 university students.

Since 2008, AIESEC in Aveiro provided 33 experiences of GCDPo, 30 experiences of GIPo, 16 experiences of GCDPi and 6 experiences of GIPi.

AIESEC in Aveiro strives for professionalism, innovation and quality in all of the experiences provided as well as the personal development of its members. Currently, we have over 50 members working hard to achieve the goals for AIESEC 2015.

We believe that the quality of our experiences is a reflection of the work and the commitment to make AIESEC reach the largest number of young people all over the world, and consequently, develop young leaders for a better society.

The University of Aveiro was founded in 1973, 41 years ago in the city of Aveiro. The University has more than 15 000 students distributed across 58 graduate courses, over 40 MSc and 25 PhD programs. In 2014, Times Higher Education classified UA as being the number 79 on its ranking of universities: "100 Under 50", that ranked the best 100 universities that are less than 50 years old.It's the only Portuguese university with a campus, improving the education of its students and interaction between different areas of studies.University of Aveiro it is a Research and Development university, having a research centers as reference nationally and internationally, in the production of science, in such diverse fields ranging from the arts and humanities, the sciences and engineering technologies, reflecting the range of knowledge and skills of its core subjects and researchers involved.

Currently, the University of Aveiro integrates 18 research units, 88.2 percent of which ranked as "Very Good" or "Excellent" in the last evaluation process conducted by The Foundation for Science and Technology. An agency of the Ministry of Education and Science of Portugal that evaluates and funds scientific research activities in the country in all areas of science.

The University also stands out on the national scene through the number of publications since each faculty member publishes 1,5 scientific articles per year.UA is also recognized internationally by their Engineers. In 2009, on the international ranking "Higher Education Evaluation and Accreditation Council of Taiwan" it was on 137º place, number one nationally. As an example of its engineering courses, Industrial Engineering and Management has 75% chance of employment and many of its past students are now successful professionals and occupy important jobs such as CEO of different multinational corporations.

It's a young and innovative university, acknowledged by different rankings of different entities as being on the forefront of research and development and this is why, every year, a growing number of students and scientists from all over the world choose the University of Aveiro as their preferred teaching and research institution.
