About Global Citizen

How Long?

Live and work on a social project abroad with cross cultural teams and families. Purpose of AIESEC programs is to bring personal development, cultural under-standing and conscience of world issues to young people while improving the lives of others.

Where?Poland, Greece, Uganda, Philippines and Colombia.

6 to 8 weeks, you often receive stipends and basic support services like food and accommodation during that time. You can also participate in 2 projects in a rowin different cities or countries.

Bring your international perspective on world issues to the classroom: make education accessible worldwide. We have projects where you can teach English to people of all ages, become a tutor of kids in Math or other subjects, prepare and deliver workshops about different topics, or even teach sports and entrepreneur-ship.

Share and gain experience from a global perspective concerning environmental sustainability issues. There are different projects that can go from education about good environmental practices, energy conservation, to recycling campaigns in different communities.

This event is included in the fee and takes place 2 times per year and includes: Accommodation during the event Food Conference sessions

Accommodation can be different depending of the country and project, usually you can stay in a host family, interns apartment, or in the NGO. If you stay in interns apartment you may share room with other interns, which can go from 2 people in one room up to 8 people. All this info is going to be provided by the host AIESEC entity.

Traveling time from the NGO to the accommo-dation, in most of the cases can be around 1 hour by public transportation, more or less de-pending of the project.

POLAND: Nationals from Finland don't need visa to participate in Global Citizen Poland.  Colombia: Nationals from Finland don’t need a visa to enter the country up to 180 days.

Greece:Nationals from Finland don't need visa to participate in Global Citizen Greece. Nationals from Finland don't need visa to participate in Global Citizen Greece.

Philippines:Nationals from Finland have free visa entry to Philippines up to 21 days, after that AIESEC in Philippines will give you all the information to get the extension of stay: For that your require: Duly Accomplished Visa Application FormValid Passport (at least 6 months) + Photocopy 2x2 ID Photo2x2 ID Photo$ 30-50 Application Fee  Uganda Nationals from Finland need visa to enter to Uganda, you can get your visa at the airport at Uganda, we recommend this option, otherwise you will have to send your passport to the embassy located in Denmark to get the visa and it might take up to one month. I learned a lot about myself, I have grown mentally. I am not that small girl who went to Uganda anymore. Of course, I am still myself, but I learned a lot about myself, because there I had to grow to be a teacher.
