REMOVE S I LOS AND AL IGN EXPECTAT IONS

The problems that come with global and matrix structured organisations are welldocumented; ambiguity, silo’s, poor communication, cross-functional competitivebehaviour and the list goes on. There is hardly a matrix organisation in the world todaythat isn’t struggling with these issues, and so it’s probably little wonder that when a bidor project team is formed, despite the best intentions of the leadership, these problemsstart to hinder the running of the team and in turn impact negatively on performance. Sitting alongside these more widely understood issues is another that both feeds onthese issues and magnifies them; too often, especially in international matrixenvironments, a key contributing factor to poor bid or project performance is amisalignment between ’what’ the team or project has to achieve, and collectivemindset of the team who are working to achieve the objectives…the ‘how’.

The Ponte Valle approach to teaming goes beyond the standard teaming event orproject charter and truly sets a team up for success.

DIFFERENT LENSES

ONE VOICE

The Winning Together program is one of the firstgenuinely sustainable processes for team buildingin project, complex or global environments;including; M&A integration, matrix/cross-functionalteams, international project teams, or a globalleadership team.

Winning Together has been used to createcollaborative ways of working and build culturalbridges in teams that are spread across multiplecountries, delivering sustainable results when manyother approaches had failed.

Page 4: Global Bid & Project Collaboration Services · performance against the Team Charter, collaboration and culture. If the Team Culture Scan was used at the beginning of the process,

The Ponte Valle Winning Together approach commences at the point of project strategyand objectives, and then works from there to help the group determine the best waythey need to be performing to execute the project outcomes.

The process the works on the values and behavioural levels of a team simultaneously, focusing on culture, operating principles and the importance of creating alignmentbetween the stated objectives of the project and the way the team delivers on theobjectives. It is this connection at the level of values and beliefs that sets the Ponte Valle methodaside from other bids, projects or international teaming events, and allows the team totruly understand what motivates and inspires each other.

At this level, authentic connection allows for a shared set of values to be created thatreflect the desire of the team in the context of what they have to achieve, and theorganisational goals and vision.

This is captured in aBid/Project Team Charter- 1-2 Days workshop depending on what is included.

Bid Team Innovation SessionSometimes the team gets stuck for a solution, or wantsto bring a dynamic edge to a solution that can’t beclearly identified.  This session uses a series of creativeprocesses to help the team step out of their comfortzone and see things from different perspectives andidentify a new way forward.- .5 day

Mediation & Intervention ServicesIt’s not unusual for the intense nature of major bids to contributeto cracks in the team or between the team and other businessfunctions or even with suppliers or the client.  The coreelements of the Winning Together process also double up tohelp bring about a shared way of moving forward and de-escalating situations that can clearly derail a bid or project.
