Acting Principal’s Report
This week is ‘SASS Recognition Week.’ ‘SASS’ stands for ‘School Administration and Support Staff’ and Glen Innes Public School certainly values the work of our ‘SASS Team.’ We have an incredible Administration Team, led by Mrs Lesley Clibborn, who are essentially the face of our school. The ladies in the office greet each person that enters with a smile and compassion. The Administration Team excel at what they do and set high standards for other school offices around the area. Our SLSOs (School Learning Support Officers, or ‘Teacher’s Aides’) are also truly valued by our teaching staff. Each of our SLSOs has an important role to play in our school and they genuinely care about our students. On behalf of all of the teaching staff at GIPS, we truly appreciate the time, effort and care you all put into our beautiful school, students and staff. Thank you!
Congratulations to both our Girl’s Touch Football and our Netball teams for winning their recent matches. Both teams now have a home game, with the Netball Team playing in the Regional Finals! We wish both teams all the best in their next rounds.
On Sunday the 21st October, our Choir will be participating in ‘New England Sings!’ This
is an event held at Lazenby Hall, University of New England and involves in excess of 800 students performing. Our Choir has been rehearsing under the guidance of Mrs Nicole McKean and participated in an ‘In House Rehearsal’ with the team from the New England Conservatorium of Music yesterday. Tickets are still available for anyone wishing to see our Choir at this amazing event.
