Give it a Go (GIAG)

Give it a Go is an activities programme run by your Students’ Union which offers you the opportunity to leap into the unknown and try something new, learn new skills and meet new people. With trips around the UK, taster sessions ranging from Bollywood Dancing to British Sign Language, and activities including quad biking and pottery painting, there really is something for everyone. So, what are you waiting for? Give it a Go!

How to BookWhile not every session requires you to book in advance, we recommend that you do early to avoid disappointment! If a session becomes too full and we have to turn you away!

Cancellations

Please note: purchasing of tickets is subject to the GIAG refund and cancellation policy. Please read our T&Cs on the website, or ask in the Activities Centre.

Go Play is the all-new ‘Alternative Sports Programme’ at Newcastle University, giving students an opportunity to try a new sport, pick up an old one or just dip in and out without needing to commit. There are no membership fees, no commitments and no pressure to compete – it’s just fun, friendly Sport For All!

We offer many different sports every term, each one running for 6 weeks. You don’t need any experience or equipment – every session is suitable for beginners and all equipment is provided.

Sign Me Up!

For everything except the ‘turn up & play’ sports, you need to book a place, as places are limited. To sign up, just come into the Students’ Union Activities Centre (1st floor). You can also sign up online at:

For nearly all our sports, you can pay for just one week, or all 6 weeks – the choice is yours!
