General Analysis of Education at the targeted provinces: Although Parwan, Kapisa and Panjsher provinces have previously had difficules with the Educaon Sector, prominent and significant steps towards providing beer educaonal opportunies to feed the demand of masses, have been taken. These measures include: eligible students’ access to school; reformaon of curricula for over 60 % of the schools; implementaon of micro and macro naonal projects such as EQUIP, literacy and Pre-School educaon; establishment of Community Development Councils, and establishment of learning circles are some of our bullet-pointed successes, which have definitely led people to understand more about educaon values and raised their awareness on the maer. Despite all of these milestones, the educaon sector of Parwan province sll needs the following acvies to completely wipe out all challenges and constraints on the educaon sector: • Increase of professional teachers, especially in rural districts. • Libraries and laboratories being well equipped with proper tools, according to the educaon curriculum. • The gap between the new educaon curriculum and teachers’ knowledge level need to be filled. • Usage of new technology such as the Internet, and distance learning programs need to be reinforced. • Lack of security in some remote areas need to be addressed. • Accurate idenficaon and usage of laboratory equipment in science lessons by teachers. • The promoon and establishment of Community Development Councils or commiees at all school levels. An introduction to the ‘Great Idea’ project: Coordinaon of Humanitarian Assistance (CHA) is a naonal and local organizaon with absolute non-profit, non-sectarian and non-governmental affiliaon. Girls Right To Education In Afghanistan Through Innovative Distance Education Approach • Broadcasng lessoning programs via SABA TV staon and NAWA radio: By broadcasng a live program of lessons in Mathemacs, Physics, Chemistry and Biology on SABA TV staon for high school students, followed by a radio program on NAWA radio staon, broadcasng teaching methods and psychology for teachers, 21 schools are being benefited by the services delivered to the schools. Specific Project Goals: • Supporng the Ministry of Educaon with the implementaon of a beer educaon system to secondary schools, via distance learning and mobile tutorials on the SABA TV staon. • Increasing enrolment to schools and decreasing drop-out rate intargeted schools. • Awareness on importance of educaon, especially for girls, and to strengthen the parcipaon of parents, teachers, prominent influenal personalies, religious leaders and community members. • Upgrading and enhancing the capacity of teachers on teaching pracces for for successful lessons. • The Parcipaon of influenal personalies on idenfying and equipping necessary tools for schools. This project is being implemented in four phases and below is the list of targeted areas with the specific number of beneficiaries: Major achievements: • Coordinaon with the Educaon sector and line departments: Consecuve meengs with the educaon directorate, educaon departments at district levels, and school leaders have been held, and each meeng sees the development of the project. In these coordinaon meengs, a report of the acvies and the progress are handed to the parcipants. In addion to these, 44 schools in Parwan, Panjsher and Kapisa provinces are acvated with approx. 2,640,000 AFNs community contribuon.
