66 % of teachers use computers. 95 % of teachers use computer to prepare for

lessons.

High level of Informatics, IT teachers’ competence. Functional community of

active teachers using ITin schools.

97 % of schools use the Internet, 67.6 % of them use broadband Internet connection.

There are no pupils, who would claim they are computer – illiterate.

More than 52 % of families have computers at home.

IT perspectivesIT perspectives

ICT will be used in various pedagogical sectors, it will become ordinary part of pupils and teachers life; social networks and newest information exchange environment will take a part of traditional learning means and education activities functions.

In-service training means, digital methodical and teaching material variety will be expanded, more of these activities will be transferred to virtual space.

There will be decentralized ICT development, in which wide space for original ideas and initiatives will open. From 2010 onwards student voucher will be budgeted for ICT practice and to maintain infrastructure.

IT in education as conditio sine qua non.

To forbid to collect information otherwise, to leave the path only trough EMIS;

To create a universal education system for the exchange of electronic data model.

Open Vocational, Information, Counselling and Guidance System (AIKOS) (www.aikos.smm.lt)

To evaluate AIKOS effectiveness according to users feedbacks, to create separate sites for different users.

Education portal Emokykla (www.emokykla.lt) To create portal of education, which joins educational objectives and

digital curriculum.

Concluding remarksConcluding remarks

IT integration in education persists a

priority of the Ministry of Education and

Science work. However it should be

redirected to: Education and science system users their current

needs;

Improvement of educational and scientific

activities management, its quality and innovation.
