The inspiration for this design project is very much re-lated to the family's relationship to one another. De-spite the difficulties that face this family, they all live under one roof easing life for one another. This family built up of three members with whom the wife is dis-abled, the daughter is deaf and the husband. Therefore, using the obvious as well as abstract elements of space we were able to achieve a space that is designed to fulfil their special needs. The sun being the center of the uni-verse represents the kitchen and the dining area where they all come together. Whereas, the rest of the ele-ments make up the overall interior design, ranging
from furniture to lighting.

Mi Sombrero
November 2014
This F&B outlet design is inspired by the busy streets
and street markets of Mexico. The idea is to portray a
rustic design with only some mexican design in order to
avoid the restaurent looking like the typical Mexican
restaurants, and to also illustrate the streets look.
Mi Sombrero is a fast casual Mexican cuisine outlet that Mi Sombrero is a fast casual Mexican cuisine outlet that
features a “Make-Your-Own-Taco” self-serviced station
and an assisted-service counter where customers give
their orders directly to the kitchen (just like the concept
of the street markets, where the customers select their
own items) and then take their food to the tables when
ready.

The type of experience Mi Sombrero offers a lively experience where the customers are casual and not restricted. Customers are free to create their own tacos at the station or choose from ‘a la carte’ and order from the chef directly. The restaurant targets families, tourists, teenagers - anyone.

TheThe uniqueness of this form of art, Cubism, really inspired me to create the bench in appreciation for its inventor, Pablo Picasso. The concept of depicting the subject from a multi-tude of viewpoints to represent the subject in a greater con-text is very intriguing. Therefore I incorporated that in my design of the bench that viewers can be seated on and look at his works in the museum. Also the idea of cubism portraying space, volume and mass are essential elements that I took into account in the design procedure of this bench. The art works that I have selected all have a relationship in one way or another which is the geometric sharp shapes creat-ing the overall painting. Again this is another vital concept of my design.

The transformation from the group of flamingos to a couch is acheived by using the shape of the flamingos when they are looking down. From the first sketch to the last each couple of flamingos look down and eventually followed by all until they all look down and form the shapes that are on the back of the sofa.
