Portal Integration

Page 6: GIMI I&M and Monitoring

6

iRODS• Ability to create account implemented in GENI

portal• In test phase• Open to the GENI world?

Page 7: GIMI I&M and Monitoring

7

Interop• Successful experiments on InstaGENI• GIMI can be used in both testbeds• No experiments that overarch InstaGENI and

ExoGENI and WiMAX

• OS limitations on InstaGENI

Issues Being Tackled• Architecture fully specified but integration

issues:– iRODS– Better integration of experiment initialization– User-centric data model (one user per slice but

project should be center of data model)

Page 13: GIMI I&M and Monitoring

13

Try to imagine what your I&M demo at GEC18 should or could look like

• A measurement experiment that includes InstaGENI, ExoGENI, and WiMAX.

• Measurement and Control:– Closed-loop experiments:• Change behavior of slice based on obtained measurement

data– Demonstrated with OpenFlow controller at GEC15

and GEC17

Page 14: GIMI I&M and Monitoring

14

What will you be showing at the demos

• Measurement based on stitching and cross-Pacific racks.

• Adaptive video streaming from different locations over non-IP OF routers.

• Large scale P2P experiment

Page 15: GIMI I&M and Monitoring

15

What do you plan to accomplish by GEC19?• Integration of GENI Portal and LabWiki, replacing a “GIMI” Portal button

with the current “init script” capability• Tutorial or documentation to help experimenters write their own GIMI

experiment live graphs• Demonstration of additional measurement types for L2 path health

checking• Demonstration of InstaGENI and ExoGENI resources in a single

experiment• Demonstration of most recent GIMI/LabWiki capability at GEC demo

night• Tutorial of GIMI/LabWiki with experimentation focus emphasizing most

recent enhancements• Release of GIMI 3.0 software

Done

A measurement experiment that includes InstaGENI, ExoGENI, and WiMAX.

Looking at OMF6

Page 16: GIMI I&M and Monitoring

16

What do you need from other groups?

• More stability in racks• More resources (especially ahead of GECs ;-) )

Page 17: GIMI I&M and Monitoring

17

Wish List• Rspec conformance• Continue interop group (I will show up more

often!!)• More resources (especially ahead of GECs ;-) )• Layer 2:– Verify L2 path– E.g., stitching in ExoGENI– Link performance– Actual hops between L3 nodes
