Book Week Last week was Book Week with the theme, ‘Books Take Us On Adventures’, and our staff did an amazing job transforming our school library to take our students on a fantastic adventure! Our Book Week dress up day was held on Thursday and we had some amazing characters show up at school. Thank you to our students, parents and staff for a great effort celebrating Book Week. The following report was written by Savannah Maybury. Pottery Thank you to Belinda Savill who worked with our Year 4/5/6 students last Tuesday, teaching them the basics of hand pottery. The kids had a great time creating some amazing hanging hens. They are now looking forward to their pieces being fired and having another session to glaze and finish them off. We look forward to seeing their finished work. Water Watch Matt from Thalgarrah Environmental Education Centre will be visiting our school next Monday 11th September. He will be working with our Year 4/5/6 class on the Water Watch Program in the middle session, and doing work with microscopes in the afternoon. This year it is based on Space. In the library this time it is space, creatures and other space stuff— stars, moons, astronauts and alien costumes to wear - glow sticks and tinsel hair. The library was called, “Welcome to the Milky Way”. It had Mrs T’s black calming hanger turned into a time machine. There is one thing left which is the short book list. The winner was “Home in the Rain”. Two days later there is a book week celebration where everyone dresses up as a space person or any other book character.
