Pre-Primary Picnics Fashion Fiesta 24 February

Nursery, Jr KG & Sr KG Picnics and excursions in the Pre-Primary are a way of exposing the children to new experiences. Their social development is enhanced as they explore the environment and learn new things. They help the students to develop and display good behaviour and etiquette in a public place. They teach the importance of staying together and being safe. The children play together, share their belongings and learn to interact with other people as well. Each class is escorted by two teachers, one member of the adventure club and a helper. As they are with people they know and are comfortable with they explore the surroundings without fear. The students are very enthusiastic about picnics and enjoy them thoroughly.

PlaygroupThe school organized a picnic for the Playgroup students at (Mc Donald's) Palm Beach Galleria Mall. The students were accompanied by the Academic Coordinator and the teachers. A separate enclosure was booked for the picnic and the children enjoyed dancing along with their teachers. The students had a lunch of fries and burger and were thrilled to receive a gift with their lunch.

Fashion is a visual statement of the way we live and what is happening. It is an instant language. Colours express certain moods and expressions. Keeping this in mind we chose SEASONS as our theme for Fashion Fiesta. The students came in trendy and fashionable clothes. They were taught to walk the ramp. After a few hiccups they sashayed to the front of the stage with great ease and confidence. The audience loved the show and applauded loudly. It was a fun way to learn grooming and get over stage fright. What stage fright; these children had none! Lesson learnt.

Hard Work

iWhoopi Goldberg was born in New York City in 1955, as Caryn Johnson. She spent the first years of

her life in a public housing project in Manhaan. Over the course of a turbulent early life, she survived

poverty, drug addicon, single motherhood and a snt on welfare to become one of America's most

beloved entertainers.

Growing up, however, Goldberg also struggled with dyslexia and, as a result, dropped out of high

school.

"I knew I wasn't stupid, and I knew I wasn't dumb. My mother told me that. Everybody told me I

wasn't stupid or dumb. If you read to me, I could tell you everything that you read. They didn't know

what it was. They knew I wasn't lazy, but what was it?"

As an adult, she finally found the reason for her reading struggles—dyslexia. As Goldberg once

recounted, "I learned from a guy who was running a program, and he had wrien a sentence on a

board. And I said to him, 'You know, I can't read that.' And he said, 'Why not?' And I said, 'Because it

doesn't make any sense to me.' So he said, 'Well, whatever you see, write exactly what you see

underneath.' And so, he brought me to leers by coordinang what I saw to something called an A, or

a B, or a C, or a D, and that was prey cool."

Goldberg has reported that reading sll takes effort, but me and pracce have made it easier. Most

important, she never allowed her learning challenge to stand in her way. Instead, she became one of

an elite group of actors who have won Grammy, Academy Award, Golden Globe, Emmy and Tony

recognions. Today, Goldberg has come a long way from a teenage mother to one of the most

powerful women in show business, thanks to hard work—including the hard work of believing in

herself.
