• Positive Referrals for SOARing - Successful, in Attendance, Organized, or Respectful. Positive referrals are handed out to students in their homerooms every Friday morning, along with a ticket to spin the prize wheel at lunch. The prize wheel randomly selects the prizes.
• Monthly, teachers select four students in each grade level who are the Student of the Month, based on good character traits. These students receive a SOM t-shirt, a certificate, and a pass to make your own ice cream sundae at lunch.
• Quarterly, we have a positive behavior incentive for those students who did not receive any classroom or administrative referrals. Often this reward has been a free jeans day; last year students liked the Ice pops at lunch the most. We also celebrate students being on-time to class by having a “No-Tardy Ice Cream party” every quarter for about 50 students who win in a drawing.
• Every quarter we recognize academic success with certificates for A and AB honor roll and perfect attendance. Students who receive a grade point average of B or higher, receive Incentive Cards, which allow students to go to the front of the lunch line every day.
