1. Download the Color Muse® App.

• Download at www.variableinc.com or search “Color Muse” on the App Store or Google Play Store.

2. Launch the app.

• Launch app and select an account option: Create, Login, or Skip.

3. Connect to Color Muse®.

• In the Color Muse® App, tap “connect device”.

• Press wake button on Color Muse® to wake (LED indicator will flash).

• The LED indicator will flash quickly once your smart-device finds Color Muse® (<5 sec). Press the button again to confirm the connection.

• Tap “Calibrate”

• Twist and remove the calibration cap to reveal the sensor, screw the cap on the opposite end for safekeeping.

4. Scan colors.

• Place Color Muse® against any surface and press “scan” in the app.

• The scanned color will appear (screen display color may not be accurate). Matching results will be displayed with top result listed first, second closest match second, etc.

• Click on the filters bar to reveal the available product categories you want to search.

Inspect

• Scan a color and view RGB, Lab, HSB, and LCH color values.

• Select the compare colors mode to view the ∆E or numerical difference between two colors.

• You can also view and export your inspection history.

Inspire

• View coordinating and complementary colors to your scanned color.

• See color palettes created by professional designers. “scan” in the app. closest match second, etc.

Palettes

• Save and organize your colors by project or client.

• Share your palette through text message, email or social media.

Use with Adobe

• After a palette is shared, there is an ASE icon located at the bottom of the page. This can be used to export your palette colors. You can import the ASE file into Adobe or a rendering software to ensure accurate color values.
