Since 1967, Big Brothers Big Sisters in Peel Region has provided children and youth in need (ages 6-17) with quality, caring mentoring relationships to ensure their healthy development and enhance their self-esteem. By providing children with a mentor someone to look up to and trust, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Peel was able to assist 2,050 children and youth in 2018 within their 9 core mentoring programs.
Volunteer time commitments vary anywhere from 2 hours a month in the Big Bunch Program to 3-4 hours every week or two in the Big Brothers Big Sisters Mentoring Program.

Through the assistance of adult and teen volunteers, the Leading to Reading program strives to turn reading and learning into a fun and positive experience.
