GRC Oatley Senior Campus offers Year 11 and 12 students the opportunity to study for the HSC in a young adult learning environment, preparing you for the next stage of your life in a manner no other school can.

At Oatley you will be mixing only with senior students who have the same focus as you – to best prepare for the HSC, TAFE or future employment. The Campus operates along the lines of a tertiary institution, ensuring that when you move onto tertiary study you are well prepared for a more independent learning environment. GRC Oatley Campus is truly a bridge to higher education and life long learning.

At Oatley, the facilities and the relationship between teachers and students all contribute to a mature learning environment which is both visible and palpable. This mature environment allows you to be a young adult and to be treated as such.

Teachers at Oatley Campus regard you as young adults and teach and treat you accordingly.

As a Year 11 or 12 student you have the opportunity to choose from a total of 78 courses, giving you the best opportunity to study exactly what you wish.

Oatley is the largest school-based VET provider in NSW, offering vocational courses that provide credit towards the HSC, TAFE and industry credentials. Thirteen courses are offered onsite, either through the school or TAFE.

GRC Oatley has a unique prefect system. All students the have opportunity to become a Prefect, based on their involvement in and contribution to the school and community, and to graduate with the honorific of Prefect should their involvement and achievements warrant this.

Y O U N G A D U LT L E A R N I N G E N V I R O N M E N T

GRC Oatley is a unique and purpose designed young adult learning facility. Learning spaces allow students to simultaneously participate in a variety of activities, such as lectures, small group problem solving and practical work. The campus also has theatrettes and a lecture theatre which mean students are familiar with this type of learning environment when they reach university.

More adult teaching methods are used, preparing our students for tertiary education. Young adult learning is based on respect between student and teacher and this respect is fostered through everything we do at Oatley.

There are 630 computer access points across the site and the school has wireless for student laptop use in all areas. Also available is a website with subject links which allows students to access a wide range of information, communication tools and learning activities.

Students come and go on campus, much as they would at university or TAFE, and attendance is monitored electronically via a student identity card.

There is plenty of parking on site for licensed students who choose to drive to and from the Campus.

80% of Oatley students who are ATAR eligible gain a place at university. 20% of students successfully enrol at TAFE or at private colleges. 13% of students enter the workforce. GRC Oatley leavers become productive members of society.

GRC Oatley Senior Campus is an excellent school and the professional learning atmosphere really motivated students to do well. I love this school. I transferred from a school I did not wish to attend. (At Oatley) I couldn’t even wait for the first bell and hated to hear the last bell. The teachers and the students were all amazing. I will surely miss the place, people, teachers, even the transport to the Campus in the morning! Year 12 student - 2017
